GLad I found this place as I'm sure I'll be needing a lot of help. Always wanted an older Z and stumbled across this one last week. Guy was askin 1200.00, I offered 1000.00 and drove it off. Car runs well, but has some rust. All original, so I guess I can live with the rust

See my post "My new 71 240Z toy". I flew into Knoxville TN Friday to pick up my car. Other than a few minor imperfections I was well pleased with the purchase. Driving a Z for the first time was incredible to say the least. This car ready moves and pulls strong even in fifth gear. Saturday morning I head out onto I-40 for the trip home to Virginia. Winding through the Smokey Mountains, I took advantage of both lanes as I careened into one corner after another. East of the Smokies I came up on a Porsche 928 who decided to run me. We were up to 120 side by side as I slowly pulled away from him. We backed down and exchanged thumbs up for the stupidity of such an act. Two hou…

So we finally have a weekend here in Fla without a hurricane. I decide to take the 240Z out for a run. The 240Z tends to sleep alot in the garage so I yell at her, "wake up, we're going for a spin". Thinking she wouldn't start because her rebel sister (77 280Z) seems to get all the attention lately, I was quite suprised when she fired right up. I pull out of my subdivision and give her a run through the gears. I think I'm cruisin' at 65 or so, look at the speedo we're pushing 90+!!! In the far off distance I see one of Florida's finest comming up on my tail. I quickly slow to the proper speed of 55 and think, Oh (fill in word of choice here) I'm busted. He gets rig…

Zers' Like most of us I go to the wreckers.....often. Woke Sat. morning, after seeing Bonds hit 700, with a bit of a hangover, I had until noon to get home, it was 10:30. I had been to the one in Fremont last weekend, and hadn't been to the one in Hayward in about three weeks. I live about a 1/2 hour from Hayward. I had decided to go for it. I walk in and could tell there was a fresh turnover. Tons of old Datsuns and Toyotas, a 610, B210, etc. Thought to myself, It looked like an all japanese collector gave up on his collection of cars.. It was amazing. And there it was, a 73 240z, It looked like someone began a resto, but gave up. The body was sanded and prime…

Just bought this fine 240Z out of Tenn. I've wanted one since I was 11. That was the Z's beginning. A good friend inspected the car for me and called to say "Buy the car immediately!" I'll be flying out from SE Va very soon to retrieve my new toy.

just recently my brother helped me get a '71 240z. personally, i think this deal is like once in a lifetime. especially around my area. brother's friend found this deal off a AAA towtruck driver selling his Z for 1500. for that price he threw in installed L28, triple webers, E88 head(dont know much about that), said to have some upgraded cams, MSD ignition, MSD Blaster2 coil, LSD, CenterLine 15x7's, 4spd&shaft, and extra 5spd&shaft. the L28 was driven for 3000 miles after rebuild and parked for 3 years. downside is that the interior's stripped NEKKED, and the shocks are completely blown, wewt! and gotta weld on new floor of chassis. BUT i think i got my mo…

This summer my wife and I took our big Dodge camper van out on a vacation camp some 100 miles from home. One morning at 4am we were awakened by sounds from the engine compartment. Two nights of battles with a large grey sqirrel ensued. It stymied all efforts of eviction from under the van. Even the family dog could not scare it away, ir stop it's labors to build a nest on the intake manifold. We left camping for home, imagining the critter must have bailed out of the van when we took to the road. At the time, I noticed that this was a grey squirrel, not native to the woods in which we camped, but definitely the type we see back in the city. A week later I had some brake w…

I ran across a parts car on eBay just recently that I "could not pass up on" Won the auction for $105.00 (Gas tank alone is worth that much!!! Which by the way is in excellent shape with no leaks, minor surface rust only...etc) Also has all the running gear, engine is all there from what I can see. Will be parting out on eBay whatever I don't use, so if someone out there is looking for a part for their Z car (Large or small)...just PM me and I'll see if I can hook you up with what you're looking for. webdawg1 Front Left.bmp

I placed a AD on craigs list last week for a wanted 240Z body that was in clean shape.I got a few calls here and there.Yesterday morning a woman called me to tell me about her 73 240Z she has.She said that she stored her 240Z since 1987 in her parents chicken coop and now she is selling there home and has to get rid of the car.She explained that she is the original owner, never had a accident and car was out of the weather for 14 1/3 years so it should be in good condition for me.So I decided to go on this 3 hour tour to her farm is Petaluma,CA. The coop that that car was in was in such bad shape that there was holes in the floor from rot.I cant believe the car didn't fall…

So I've been waiting 2 years to get a 240z ever since I was an Idiot and sold the 280z... I finally located one about an hour away from me in Iowa. The Body was solid and *mostly* rust free and the engine just burned a little oil. Needed some work, but thats ok! its only 1k and I could do some work on it over the next month and get it working... (Here is Murphy's Law), I get my loan for it...yay! but on my way home from work... my car DIES! like, engine fuses and won't move....great, now I probably have to replace the engine and 'darn', so much for the 240....

This Sunday i had one of THOSE drives. Everything was perfect. The weather a sunny summer day with just a few poofy white clouds. I headed out of the city to the palouse country of eastern Washington. This is a rolling hilly terrain marked by bright green fields of wheat and peas, tiny little towns and picturesque barns and farms. The best part of course is the roads! Amazing corners and lots of up and down action. I was heading along a famikliar road with lots of big sweepers when i spied a side road I wasnt familiar with . I was in a real space on this new road, very smooth pavemnt, and incredibly narrow, and very windy. As i rounded a corner and had a view about a quar…
