Hello everyone. I have recently purchased my first 280Z and wanted to introduce myself. Ive had a couple 300ZX and have always wanted an S30. I have big plans to restore her to her former glory. It is a 1975 280Z 4 speed manual. Color code 214 dark brown with black interior. The body is in decent shape just needs new lower fenders replaced and 1 small hole in the drivers floor pan. Also the inner fender area above the frame rails have the typical Z rust. Battery tray isnt too bad just surface rust. The previous owner started sanding down the car and primed the rusted areas, but it will need some major restoration. My plans are: Strip down and disassemble to the point w…

Hello everyone! My name is Max, I'm a French guy who recently relocated (permanently) in Los Angeles for work. I'm 26 and it's been years since I'm looking at 240Z but I've never been able to afford one, until now. Los Angeles is also definitely easier than French countryside for finding a good car! I understand that I'm a real beginner here but I'm really motivated to learn a lot and find a ton of useful advices... and ultimately the car I want. My main problem being mechanics. I did a few things in a workshop for personal project but my knowledge in car mechanics is very very limited. That's why I'm not looking for a project car but a car which runs well (I never owned …

I bought this car ~3-4 months ago. I've had it up here for the last month. I actually bought this car closer to home, so I was forced to wait a couple months before getting to go on leave and seeing it in person myself. I got my dad to look at it for me after I found it on Craigslist and figured out I was looking at a "Series I." I took his word when he said it was a pretty rust-free car except a bit at the bottom of the fenders and a bit of surface rust under the car. He'd also said the interior was in great shape with the exception of the driver's seat just starting to separate inboard of the bolster. The other small issues were that the brakes vibrated a bit, the clutc…

Hello all, my name's Justin. I'm originally from SE Ohio. I joined the Navy just shy of 5 years ago now, currently I'm Waterford, CT. I also spent a little while in Summerville, SC prior to moving here. I have about another year on my contract then I'm planning on heading to Atlanta to go through a race car prep tech school then back to Ohio to help my dad run the family business. My 1st car was a '95 Neon that I drove until just prior to joining the Navy when it threw the timing belt and chewed on some of it's own valves. I had planned to make a weekend swap of putting a SRT-4 motor in, and here we are 6 years and a few months later. My job doesn't allow me much time at…

Hiya. I've been part of this club for like 2-3 years now so it might be time to introduce my car. I imported this car from Anaheim in 2009, it was not driveable. It had broken head gasket and interior was smashed. Paint was new but it is el cheapo one, so i might have to repaint it in some stage. Currently the car is my summer daily driver and works like a charm. Biggest issues: -engine bay needs repaint, i have no experience removing anything bigger than starter so this could be interesting... -differential is screaming so it needs to be replaced, or restored on the way to its new home day after i got it in garage with highborn friend may-day drive in 20…

Already got some useful information from the 1st Gen forum, but thought I'd say hello all. My name is Eric and I'm a 31 year old artist and gallery director living in Santa Fe, NM. I have always loved Z cars! The 240 is the third classic car I've purchased in the last year as my "little hobby" has quickly developed into a full blown addiction. I started tinkering with a 71' Fiat 124 Spider (now sold) but quickly started looking for a bigger project. I now have a 69' Triumph GT-6+ in the middle of a full frame-off restoration that I'm mostly doing on my own (and learning as I go). I bought the 240 about a month ago when opportunity knocked. It is extraordinarily original.…

Hey everyone - I've been a site lurker for a while :paranoid: but I am now getting ready to officially purchase my first Z. My nick comes from my first true car love - the R34 Skyline. I'm a product of my generation, what can I say? I've grown up quite a lot since then and added many cars to the wishlist, but an R34 is definitely a dream I am pursuing. When it comes to cars, I'm probably not much different than all of you wonderful Z fans... Give me some good music, ocean breeze and an open road and that's what makes me happy. I'm looking to get a Z that's in good condition, get it to Stage 0, and then do a few upgrades. Not looking for a serious racer, just something I …
