List, Wow! What a great event. I drove up on Tuesday and it was a terrific ride. Almost 600 miles. No car problems and I averaged 27 MPG. I mostly cruised at around 80mph but I came across a Subaru WRX that I had to show who was boss. The Subaru was fast until around 90mph but then the Z took off and he got a nice view of my tail lights as I blasted past him. I finally let off after seeing the Z's top end speed (135MPH)I arrived at my friend Lou's house in NH Tuesday evening for a dinner of Chili and Corona's. Lou is one of my 510 buddies. Keith (another 510 buddy ) was already there. We got up early on Wednesday and drove to the car show. I took one look at all the beaut…

I get to the place where I am buying it from and we call the guy to meet us there. He decides that now is the best time to get the old crap out of the car and ready for me. So we wait around a while for him then he finally gets there and starts cleaning. Well then my Dad says to him "Got the title?" And he realizes it is at his office. Which he tells us is five minutes away be right back. About a half hour goes by and he is still not back. So we are putting air in the tires since they were basicly flat from sitting there since October and putting the plates on from my Maxima to try to get it home. Well my Dad tells me to drive the car over to the compressor. As I am in…

Well, it had to happen sooner or later and as it turned out...much later... I've finally bought a Z! <long sigh> The car is presently in Victoria and will be coming to its new home in Western Australia as soon as a few logistical details are sorted out. It is a '73 with original engine/g'box, original tan and black interior and original (roughish) exterior. Yes, it means doing what I said I wouldn't do and starting a restoration project... but its worth it! Many thanks to my spy (NickF) for turning up a little gem in his own neighborhood!

Well, where do I start? First I guess I will say HI to everyone here... very nice site ... and the people seem to be quite helpful! Six months ago I started on a new project... A buddy of mine owned a 1970 240Z that was in bad need of some TLC... It had sat in the weather for 4 years (for unknown reasons) During this time the beautiful red paint was no longer beautiful, dry rot had set into the hoses, belts, and tires... But the absolute worst thing... The battery (still in the car) had leaked down the inside of the fender well, and down onto the right front frame rail... After surgery, involving many hours of removing body panels, and carefully cutting out origianl…

Continued from Part 1, Finally its 5:30, and the car is ready. Can't get the song "On the Road Again" out of my head. About 6:30 my stomach begins to remind me that I haven't eaten since 6:00 this morning, so I fill up the gas tank and pull into Burger King to inhale a Cheese Wopper. This is in Kinston by the way, same town I got stuck in earlier. As I walk back out to the car, I notice a 6 inch dark spot under the gas tank. On closer look I see that the upper hose on the tank is leaking. Damn! Seems to happen only when its full. So now I am thinking, they roll up the streets in this town at 5:00. There's not going to be anywhere open that could fix this thing. …

Seems like a slow news day today, so I thought I might share my latest Z story: Last June I did a drivers school at Blackhawk Farms Raceway, and was hooked. However during a practice session, I blew a brake line going into turn #7, which made things a little hairy. That day someone put their Supra Turbo into a guard rail, and shortly after that a guy from our club put his 300Zx into a rail. These things combined with the fact that I had some bucks tied up in my 70 (show car), I decided that I needed another 240 for the track. So I have been looking since last June, and in earnest since May of this year (when I sold the wife on the concept). Sold maybe a strong word,…

In 1988 my wife worked witha girl that had a new '88 maxima. She broke the antenna off in a carwash.I got the part from nissian and she paid my wife. She was to get together with me for the replacement. She then had a leak at the windshield and tried to fix it with black silicone.Ugly looking job.She then left the job and we didnt hear from her again. Now here it is 2003 and a friend comes over last night and wants to show me the maxima he bought to drive while redoing his 240.Its not bad he says except someone did an ugly job trying to repair a windshield leak.I bet the antenna is broken I said. How did you know he replied?'Cause I have the replacement mast in my toolbox!!!Th…

Well, I just arrived back home from the first long cruise(350 miles each way. Purpose was to get the Z painted) with the Z since rebuilding it, and the trip proved interesting(euphemism). First thing on the way up to Denver, I was stopped by a cop for no front license plate(Didn't even realize it was required. Guess that's why they sent me two plates. Duhhh.). A little farther on, I stopped to get gas and found that my fuel inlet fittings on the triple webers had come loose(the dirt roads I live on wreak havoc with anything not welded) and were leaking a substantial amount of gas onto the header. Almost turned the Z into a ricer with the flaming exhaust. Then while…

Hi from Brisbane all... To suit 240Z & 260Z. Mild to WILD. The smaller spoiler is more in keeping with the original body line of the car. (1.3KG). The larger spoiler has vents modified for more efficient ducting to the brakes (2.4 KG) PLEASE SEE ADDITIONAL IMAGES IN MY GALLERY. Also just added to my little collection are the front and rear BRE spoilers for the Z's. PLEASE NOTE - ALL OF THESE SPOILERS ARE AVAILABLE IN CARBON FIBRE @ AN ADDITIONAL COST TO THE PURCHASER...I have just finished a mould of the steering column shroud - they look quite trick in carbon.
