Stories you just love to share. I was traveling on the New England highway (HWY 15) from Sydney to Brisbane. I was traveling through a hilly area with sweeping curves short straights climbs and dips ( classic road for Z exibition read 65 to 95 mph). I came apon a small country town, slowed to crawl speed 35MPH through the town, time 10.15 pm. As I passed the local pub in fourth gear basically at idle speed, I see a police car attending to the post closing time sport Read (fight). Steve not being one to waste an opertunity continues out twards the town limit doing the maths( seen 1 patrol car 40 miles south of tamworth, 10.15 pm answer no more patrol cars to Tamworth) an…

Just had to share with you all. I've just put a deposit down on this little beauty. It's not registered but it should be on the road by Tuesday making for a perfect Xmas present. According to the owner, Carlos from Sportsclassic Cars in Sydney, it's never had any rust in it's entire history and I believe him as I've been through it all and even had it on his hoist. It's had a bare metal respray not long ago but only on the outside. This has left the original paint in the engine bay, around the doors and all the other usual places. The quality of these unpainted spots shows that it's never had any rust. It's an ACT car so it was away from the sea which helped immensely. …

This was posted to the mailing list by Carl. I thought it was interesting enough to post here. It might be an inspiration for someone. Hi George/Everyone: My Dad owned a Shell Service Station in Ashland, Ohio. So I grew up watching him fix cars;-)... One day when I was about 8 years old, a man stopped for gas in a then new Ferrari...a little red roadster (250 I think)... I had never seen anything so beautiful.. and that is when I fell in love with Sports/GTs. First Story: When I was a senior in High School (1963) our local Ford Dealer (Jack Topping) owned a 1956 M/B 300SL Gullwing. He wanted to sell it and was asking $4,500.00 - I had managed to sav…

Thank you for the "Ride of the Month" honor!! The Fairlady was blushing when I told her. Seriously thank you to Mike, Zpoint, Spuds, and everyone else. For what it is worth I sent the Fort Ord pictures of Slidesquad's 72 and my 73 to Nostalgic Hero on CD-R a couple weeks ago - wonder if they will have anything to say about them. -e

A couple years ago, when I moved back to the states, I pulled my 240Z out of storage. It had been in storage for 3 years. I'd pull it out & drive it for about a week every year, so it wasn't too bad, but it was a bit rough. I drove it around a bit & everything seemed to be working (after I replaced a frozen starter & aired up the tires). So what the hell, I decided to drive it to my new house - from mid Missouri to Houston, TX, about 800 miles. Well, I took all my tools, just in case. It was a blast. Great to be back in the car. Radar detector humming, car humming. Until southern Oklahoma. 90 mph, 85 mph, 75 mph ... still floored, not making headway..…

At last bought a digital camera. I've been umming and ahhing for weeks. For those that are interested I've posted a couple of shots of my 260Z 2+2 following it's(not so) recent argument with a Ford Falcon. Alfadog, next up is my 240 but we've been having terrible dust storms in Sydney the last few days and it doesn't look its best at the moment.

I just uploaded more picts of my Zcar as it sits right now. Not much has changed in the past few years except for some additional dust. That's about to change here soon. Can't believe it took me this long just to get the images uploaded to my gallery!!! http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=3048&ppuser=4&thumb=1

Well here are my babies, the orange one is a 71 240 with a Chevy 350, the blue one is a 74 260 mostly stock. 260 is a daily driver while the 240 is pretty much for show and go!
