For those people who don't know , I have been waiting to work on my car for a long time now, and two weeks ago my car went to the body shop to start the project. Here are some pics so you guys can see the shape of the car. It's a lot of work but we will finish. Please guys if you have any comments on how I can do this better, please e-mail me at toletero@bellsouth.net. Car Specs

New 280z 2+2 1 2

Hi all, I did manage to pick up a 280z 2+2 today. The car condition is immaculate! I picked her up from a retired couple who actually purchased the car in '75. She said that she bought it about 4 months after it was delivered to the lot. So, it's an original owner vehicle!! They parked the car in '85 because they purchased another vehicle and this one was getting too many tickets. I guess she just had her foot into it too much. She mentioned something about 3-4 speeding tickets in a years time. Because of this, her husband pulled the car into the garage and said ENOUGH! Well, as time went on, they kept piling stuff on top of the car and eventually forgot abo…

Well, it's time to show off my beast. I've had it for only a few years, most of that time spent dead or dismembered. It's back to life now and lives for the road. Engine has been overhauled with a moderate cam. '72 intake and exhaust manifolds to match '72 carbs that it came with. While the engine was out, I stripped off the fenders and rebuilt the battery box, the rot in the fenders and under the fenders. I ran out of things to take apart, so I had to paint it and put it back together. The bumpers weren't worth putting back on, so I'll be fabricating new ones. Doug Quammen

theres A few pics. I have put this car up on A lift and found NO form of rust under her. This car still has the 8 track player thats just how pure she is. Getting close to picking A base color. I was thinking yellow but then look around and see how many yellow and red Z s are out there. Now thinking viper blue with the twin white stripes. Any thoughts let me know I am open. P.S. When I got the car home it had A aftermarket paint (metal flake turd brown) with sun crack in the clear coat. that and wanting to see if there was any body/rust filler in her. is why I am taking in so far down. Oh yah. the motor. race cam , valves , valvesprings , ported, 6 into 2 header …

My 71 240z 1 2

This is a recent photo of my 2/71. Pretty much completely restored. At least I thought it was until I got into this group, then found out mine is really very "refreshed". Original engine, tranny, rear end. Although I did change the rear end mounts to let it line up like the later 240's. New everything bushings, calipers, rotors, drums, wheel cylinders, springs etc. etc. It has the MSA 6 into 1 header, and a mild Schneider cam, engine and tranny completely overhauled. Interior is all stock except for an aftermarket radio. I bought one of those rear deck things that holds two 6x9 speakers, so I did not have to do any cutting, and can go back with the stock panel if needeed. …

I thought I'd post my 260Z for anyone interested. I got it back in Aug. 01 and have not yet made any modifications. It's almost all stock except the wheels and some engine modifications done by the previous owner. It's got an L26 with a cam, headers, and the 240 SU setup. everything else is stock including the original am/fm radio. It's got 77,700 original. The paint and interior is all original too!

This was a while back, but something I just wanted to share. When I first got my Z, I was pretty enthused about bolting on stuff for added performance. At the time, my motor was mildly modified ( 40mm triple webers, Mallory distrib, motorsport headers, and 2 1'2 pipe from header back to muffler). I used to drive my car pretty hard, up to the 6000+ redline (give or take a couple hundred). Afterwards, I noticed my muffler started to break the seam and the muffler shape was starting to bulge and deform. The muffler was part of the Motorsport kit which was a Dynomax muffler. It's design was not a S shape chamber but of a more primitive design, like a muffler stuffed with fibr…
