Bought this car in 1987, still have it. I started racing it in ITS at Summit Point in 1989 and retired the car in 1994. Shamefully it doesn't look this good anymore. Has the Ground Control suspension, a stock ATK crate motor and the required safety equipment. No, I never won a race, best was 6th place in a race in 95+ degree weather when all the 240 drivers were smart enough to stay home. Still was a lot of fun all the same, just too darn expensive for a toy.

I just purchased my 2nd 70 Z (first was stolen). The car I bought has a clean engine but it feels a little tired and there is a small engine leak. I have decided to get the engine rebuilt as part of the restoration project. I called Zdoctor here in the bay area and they suggested installing a factory rebuilt 280zx motor as opposed to rebuilding the original 240z engine. Cost is about the same $5500. Does any one have any opinions on this. Does this price seem reasonable for a complete block and head. I unfortunately have no experience in this area. If anyone can recommend another shop in the bay area that would be great too. Mark

Hey all, I received this email from a guy in Norway. I thought the story was impressive. He's done a lot for his Z. I think he'll become a member of the club soon. I also asked him to post pictures...

I just bought this car last week. IT is a '73 240z with 30k original miles on it. All stock except for radio. (anyone have a stock one for sale?) runs great! No cracks or blemishes on dash looks almost new in throughout. It feels great to back in a real car again! -Dale-

Well, here it is in the beginning.... '71 Series I bought in 1993 from 2nd owner. I was going to college then and didn't have a lot of money, so all I did was get it to where I could start it and move it whenever I moved. Got a house in '96 and that's when the resto really started. I have more info on my website.... www.geocities.com/kenshobnob (That's my (now) wife standing beside the car.)
