my 72-240 has to be painted and may need u-joints and wheel bearings; also probably some electrical work. This car means very much to me as it came from a dear freind who is gone now.My question is,how much do I spend on this deal before I've spent more than it's worth? What is a Z car like this worth?Anyone with an educated guess?

Yeah, one day my buddy Bert and I were driving our Zs up this road and smelled like my car was on fire. $hit I thought, I gotta pull over ASAP and pull out the fire extinguisher. I hit the brakes and found they went to the floor!. Oh man, luckily it was uphill, so car slowed down in a little bit. After it slowed down, I jammed on the emergency brake to halt the car. I saw the smoke come out of the rear of the car, and thought what kind of fire was that? I could see there was brake fluid gushing out to the floor and my steel braided brake line was on fire. I yelled to my buddy that my car was on fire, and he was just kind of dumbfounded because a fire should not start at …

We just celebrated the 30th birthday for my 72 Z. I am the original owner having driven it off the show room floor myself. We have had some great times together. Here it is with some friends. It's the one with the party hat on.

Hello all.. Just wanted to share some pics of my Z i just bought. I'm the third owner, and as far as i can tell everything on it is stock. Not too sure on the seats though, as this is my first Zcar i cant tell if the seats that are in it are the originals or not, if they are they are in wonderful condition, as is most the car, with the ocasional rust spot, one small hole on the passenger side floorboard. Had all the Org. HubCaps but missing 5 emblems.. I traded my 85' Chevy suburban even steven for it, think i got the better end of the deal the Burban was on its last leg.. anyway, here are some pics. I just had an old friend pass away from cancer. He served in Vietnam and was retired from the Monroe La. fire dept.In 78 I traded him a 69 camero for a 72-240Z.When he passed away,he left me another 72-240,,,,,just like the old one,,,,complete with sidepipes..It's been in storage for 3 years and I'm having a little trouble getting it started but I can't wait to hear it roar!Sidepipes really give em an attitude.Makes em look like something Hot Wheels would come up with too..I'll send a pic when I can.

The story happened right after I bought my '73 240Z. I had done nothing to it at the time, those of you who have read my post know it now has an L28, 5-speed, etc. Anycase one particularly cold February day last year I was coming home from work. I was thinking I needed to do something to my Z and was not certain what as of yet. The L24 spat and spuddered and the 4-speed whined like my ex-girlfriend. I was driving down a residential street during rush hour, my personal shortcut to avoid traffic. Just keeping the car running was difficult so I had been racing the engine a bit, and as a result I guess I was driving to quickly. It didn't help that the residential roads were …

Yes, I did it again... I must have pissed off the powers above earlier this year. Yesterday (last June) I was at a driving school at Buttonwillow race track near Bakersfield, CA. Got through a couple sessions and on my third, while coming down off Magic Mountain (a little hill on the west side of the track) I heard the now familiar BANG followed by a weird, wiggly feeling in the back of the car. It was a little scarier at 80+ mph, but the wheel stayed on and I found that I could apply power if I loaded the left side of the car. So, I made it back to the pits and spent the rest of the school bumming rides with the instructors. This time I broke the stub axle on the righ…

FYI... this little adventure happened exactly a week before my recent excursion into the PIR turn 2 tire wall. Third autocross run (the money run) at the Cal Club autocross at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA. I KNOW this will be the fast time of the day (FTD) run! Funny how you get that feeling just before... Second gear, right hand turn onto the only real straight in the course. I'm pretty much foot-to-the-floor exiting the turn at 2500 rpm when I hear a BANG and the engine instantly hits the rev limiter. The car gets a little squirrley as I let off the gas and coast off the course. As I roll into the paddock I'm revving the engine a bit and trying all the gears in t…

Well... it started out simple enough. Ya see, at the first few autocrosses of 2000 I was having a problem where the car would load up (run really rich) in grid and I would get a miss during the first 100 yards of the run. Then the car would clear out and run great. Some sleuthing by me and Bryan Lampe determined that my stock heat shield was not enough to keep fuel from boiling in the float bowls on the rear carb. So... I decided to build myself a new heat shield. Sounded like a simple enough project. Little did I know. I called Erik at EMI Racing to see if he might have one lying around. He said, "No, but I bet you can build one out of a titanium/aluminum/ceramic hon…
