Hi everybody, names Robert! I picked up my first Datsun about 3 months ago. It was in pretty bad shape, not running, and the interior was completely gutted. I Talked the seller down and got it for $1300 cash. The motor is an L28e and it also has a 5 speed swap. It has SU carbs on her. I had to clean and balance them, clean the fuel tank and the dizzy shaft was installed 180 out. Got all that fixed and she started right up with a little fuel in the carbs. Suspension was done and would bottom out on a regular so I put some used, but much better, struts on her. The body is rust free and fairly straight with the excetion of the roof, a fender and the hood. Nothing a lil bit …

just got my 72 240 rolled into the shop never worked on an import. engine and tranny out in a heartbeat. engine on stand and disassembled waiting for pistons, rings ,bearings and head resurfacing, the bore was almost perfect. Couple of questions for you zed heads. the car came with no carbs or intake I found a 4 screw set with intake from a 70. got it for a bottle of captain morgans. will that intake fit on my block or is there some sort of water piping missing from the 70 intake and is it critical? the other thing missing was bumpers I'm hybriding the car a bit so fiberglass will do I have a tough time paying more for shipping than the actual parts. I'm located in Kamloo…

Hi! My name is Jordan, I'm obviously new here. I own a 1979 280zx (sweet 16 birthday present). My car is a work in progress and I am very excited about sharing the story with other Classic Z owners. I actually have quite a history with Z cars for teenager. My mother was actually in a commercial for the 280zx! How cool?! Also my brother owns a 10th Anniversary 280zx (Known as superj243), that I have helped him work on a lot. So I kinda-somewhat-not-really know what I'm doing haha. So I am very aware of how lucky I am. I got my car running about 3 days ago, But still a lot of problems with it. So please, don't be afraid to email or message me any tips or tricks that you thi…

Project thread for the 2050-Z: I bought this 280z in Summer 2011. The original ad on Craigslist: 1977 Datsun 280Z - (Bellingham) Date: 2011-07-24, 11:03AM PDT http://bellingham.cr...2510772069.html Well I never thought I would get rid of her but she needs someone thats going to drive her more often. This car is an absolute blast to drive. It handles great, runs strong and smooth. Great to take out on Chuckanut or go cruise in the county. Couple of notes: - I have the original factory manual. - I have the original factory wheel blocks. - I think the spare tire is original. - I have a spare hood from an earlier model w/out the hood vents that comes with t…

Greetings, I just joined to share the result of a 6 month search for a classic Z to return back to cruising the streets again. This 1978 2+2 was kept sitting in a garage for the last year, the previous owner unfortunately left us due to cancer and his widow decided to sell rather than keep it in the family. Shorty after it went up for sale locally on craigslist I was inspecting the car after a 3 hour one way drive. Everything looked to be in order that day and overall the Z was in great shape, engine compartment filmed over dirty, exterior unwashed and interior surprisingly clean. Upon inspection I noticed the entire Z had been serviced by Ziebart in the past includin…

i just wanted to take a minute (a couple years after registering) to say "hi". i've also updated my garage with a few pictures and some general details. my name is rob, and i have an addiction. i've been around z-cars for quite some time, and i think that i've "met" many of you either online through ebay or zcar.com, or even in person (carlisle import show/datsuns at the glen, etc.) over the years. looking forward to meeting more of you as time goes by, and learning more every day about the addiction that plagues us all. best ~ rob.

After a few years of sitting, my '70 240 is back on the road! It's #4446, mostly completely stock. Engine purrs until it growls. Tranny is a bit noisy, but it shifts fine. Only things I changed are the clutch (280), the springs (Tokiko), and the fan assembly. Dash has minor cracking. Only minor surface rust (needs paint) except one spot by the back wheel. I have the new metal. I live on a beautiful mountain highway, so driving is a lot of fun. I may sell it, if I can get myself to let go of it. Cheers! - Theron
