Hello all: Thanks for looking at my build. This is a 1973 240z Datsun. Some History- I am the third owner of the car. The person I bought it from ,2ed owner, bought it from a dealership in Los Gatos in 1976. At some point she had a sunroof put in, then taken out. Over time the bondo has not done so well. Someone bought it brand new, owned it for less than three years then traded it in. She used to live in California and when she moved to Tennessee in the late 90's she had it towed. Sadly the Z did not see much road time after the move, had the intake changed over and supposedly went to the dealership to "fix" vapor lock, and eight years ago began its long sit, waiting…

Back Story: Scowering(?) through CL for a couple of months and researching different types of sporty vehicles in hopes of one day getting my hands on one but yet had no idea on what car specifically I ended up with a list. I was to get either a 240sx, a Cressida, a RX-7, a Celica Supra, a Miata, a S30Z, a S130Z, or an early model Z31. For those of you still wondering what won... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Car: 1976 Datsun 280z (1 year shy of being SMOG Exempt!! ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Purchase: I saw it last week on CL for a pretty small c…

Hey there, I'm going to post the beginning of my 240Z project here and will update it every time and so on... For the rest of myself see my introduction on the members part.. I don't know much about Datsun for now, so all the help would be great! The owner didn't have much information about it, he thought it was from 71? He sas i had my hands on a 240Z chassis with 280Z motor. But i found a 260Z logo in some boxes that came with it? But he says that is not the original logo. I put here in the shed, and started working on it.. Few pictures ( More to come ):

Haven't posted in a couple of years, but I ran into an issue this last month that I needed to tell. On the way to work a month or so ago my 240z all of a sudden started bogging. The exhaust had gone from high pitch to a low baritone. I had to gas the hell out of it to get home, stalling several times along the way. Once I got home I did the usual checking for gas and spark. All good. Literally for weeks I looked for a cause. Because its my daily driver, I had to rent a car, three a matter of fact. I ran out of time and money so i got drastic and had the head rebuilt, 150 bucks. I put the rebuilt head on, only to get the same result. So I removed the head and put…

My 17 year old son just purchased a 83 280ZX for his first ride. Auto,air,t-tops and 200k. Car is mostly orig with just a repaint and some mediocre interior work. Runs very good and is a pretty much completely rust and frame damage free. AC has an issue, bushings are worn and that orig radio and speakers has to go. Suspension, exhaust, intake, audio and wheels and tires are his priority. Don't want a rocket ship or canyon carver, just a fun reliable good looking ZX. I'm a traditional musclecar guy but always liked the Z cars more than any other import. Any info/website/supplier/general help much appreciated.

Not a classic Z but one that I feel was the last Z car that shared truly shared a lineage with the original, a 1988 300zx Turbo 5-speed GS. A fellow Z31 owner sent this one my way as it was located in Baton Rouge LA and I had it shipped to Austin TX. I had been looking for a Shiro edition 300zx for awhile but every one I came across was either too expensive, too many miles, or modified beyond my taste so this is the next best thing. Like any car you buy site unseen there are a few disappointments but for the most part the car is very solid. It is all stock except for the Ronal wheels which I have no plans to change. It spent most of its life in California and is truly…
