Hi, I am a new member to the site. My husband and I owned a78 280 a while back and just bought a 72 240. The car is a restoration project with minimal rust and mostly in need of a paint job. I am trying to decide whether to do a factory restoration or a resto-mod. The car is currently and originally 112-yellow (lime green) and and has an automatic transmission. I'm really not a fan of autos, and the previous three cars (not z's) that I have purchase I converted to standards. What is the general opinion on this swap in the z community? And any thoughts on the paint color? I know a lot of the 112-yellow cars were repainted. Is it worth repainting the car in yellow because i…

Hi, thought I would introduce myself.. so... hi! The name's Walter and I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I recently purchased a yellow '76 280z that got hit from the front passenger side. Seems like the only damage was the fender and that side of the suspension. I bought the whole suspension set up for that side the very next day from the junkyard, but now I realize that I also need a new rack and pinion.. so that's the plan.

Hi guys, New guy from London UK. Was born and brought up in East Africa, where watching the Safari Rallys, got me hooked on Datsuns, and the Z's. Unfortunately don't own one myself but is something I plan to get one day. Other family members have, and have owned 260zs, and also have a lot of other Datsun models, that keeps me going for the time being. Got some nice videos I took at previous safari rallys, will post them up in the appropriate section. G

I've been a member of this site since '09, however, I didn't purchase my 240Z until earlier this year. She's a 1972 918 orange 240Z, L24 w/SU carbs, 4-spd manual and original. I drove from my home in PA out to OK to purchase the car in non-running condition. She had her E88 cylinder head machined with a new valvetrain. Stock bottom end with good compression, and she's running smoothly right now The only real issue is the battery tray/inner fender and the passender floorboard. Everything else is free of rust, the undercarriage is clean(for a 40 year old car) and the interior needs to be reinstalled. I'm happy with her and will try to get a build thread at some point when…

I went to see Cars 2 last night with the wife and kids. I was impressed with the number of Z cars shown in the animated scenes of Tokyo. I saw at least four S30 cars and there was a large gong shaped like a second-generation 240z hubcap. I'm sure that went over the head of everyone else. They also had a nice homage to Paul Newman (who played the voice of Doc Hudson in the first Cars movie) by showing a Doc Hudson museum and a moment where characters fondly remembered him. Not an an academy award winner, but a fun movie for kids and car-lovers alike. http://www.takefiveaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/WM2-Thunder.jpg

There is a time and place for everything. This was not the place. This is an accident my crews went on early this week involving a 350Z Father taking his son for a ride.

Well after almost 4 years I have been bitten by the Z bug again... Just purchased a 72 beautiful little girl with butterscotch interior.. I bought it local (Ontario,Canada). It has been in storage since 1987 but looks like it had a hard few years before it was put away...Anyways can't wait to take her all apart and make her real pretty for my girl.. I'll post pics as soon as I get her home. Cheers, Dean
