Hey everyone!, I am pleased to say that my brother in law received this car for an unbelievable price of $1,000. The guys needed the money real bad, it looks like its been treated for rust in the past, but there are a few spots acumulating now that need attention. He is gone in alaska for a few months and allowed me to tinker with it for a while. IM CURRENTLY SEARCHING FOR A 240Z myself, 74 and below. It's a Nissan 240z swapped out with a rebuilt 2.8L Straight 6 cylinder block with only 2,000 miles on the rebuild. The block came from a 1981 280z, It also has a recently rebuilt 4 speed manual transmission. The car runs beautifully, it handles like it's on rails, it only …

I'll start off by briefly describing the events which led up to this story. I purchased my 1971 240z in 2010 from a gentleman who bought the car in Ohio and drove it back to Ontario, Canada. He supplied me with the import papers which indicated the car had been imported to Canada in 2008. He had also briefly mentioned the car was originally white (now blue) and that it had spent some time in Texas. I was also told about a death in the previous owner's family. This was about all the information I had got from him when I bought the car. I had alot of question's I would have liked answered such as...the authentic milage on the car? how long was it in Texas? how many owner's?…

Hello, I purchased a 1975 280Z last fall from a local owner in Charlotte, NC. It has a '77 motor with a competition cam and some other minor mods. I have always wanted one since I was a kid and now have a drivable project. Will post some pics when I get the chance.

Hello all, In my youth i had the best car in the world, a 78 right hand drive Datsun 280z. In my comings and goings i didnt treat my car well and when she gave up on me (every thing still ran but not in peak condition) i parked it and upgraded. Now that im older i want my Z back. After waiting weeks for a new ignition switch, which arrived today, Im ready to get started on getting it back on the road. After attaching the ignition switch, i realized i have no idea on how to get the car going again and everything in the car is in japanese. If you all know of a book or something that will get me going let me know. I did purchase the Haynes auto repair book but that covers r…

hello everyone, all being well my 'fairlady' project should be ready early next year,so i thought i'd share my progress with some pictures and comments. i hope its of interest. It all started with the dreaded e bay (addictive to say the least). Quite a rare occurance when a californian 73 240z is listed on uk e bay site, when the car was still state side. What attracted me the most was the seller was a trader who's shipping costs quoted was 'very' reasonable, especially at that time the exchange rate was two dollars to a pound. I requested the usual extra pics of rust prone areas, which were provided in abudance. It still was a massive gamble to bid,but bid i did a…

Bought the little stinker new in '78 when I was 31, and just spent a chunk of change getting it refurbed because I just can't part with it. Turned out pretty nice, but now I am looking to change out rims and tires and I have a problem with the air flow meter. Will be interested to see what I can find here. Nathan Mayo.....Orlando, FL

Hello all. This is my first post here and would like to say I look forward to getting and hopefully giving useful Zcar information on the forum. My wife and I both owned Zs when we were younger an lately she has had a desire to get another. So we found one in NC and brought it home. It's is the one in my profile pic. So the partnership goes like this. I fix it, she drives it. Sound familiar? My angle is I won't let her driver it until I have fully tested my repairs and have deemed them safe! Well that's it in a nut shell. Glen

Hi, I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Aussie Pete and for some time now I've been assisting 240Z restorers' worldwide by making and supplying Hatch Hinge Boots so they can finish off the hatch area of their Zeds the way it was meant to be finished. It's a hobby, not a business so the price is very affordable at $58.50 plus postage. There will be a price rise soon. If you need a set of boots, send a PM and I will advise a waiting time, or keep an eye on Australian ebay but they don't last long on there, however I do list a set often enough, every other week when possible, more often if I have ample time to make them I have owned a 240Z for over 10 years now but finding it …
