Hey everybody, Just joined up a week or so ago,and wanted to say it's a pleasure to be here! I have a 1979 280zx,it runs great, but in need of paint and some interior work,I've had it almost two years now and it has made driving fun again! My problem is ever since my girl friends brother bought his Z in the spring of 1970,(yea,I'm an old guy) I have loved only one car....a 240Z. I always planned on getting one,but timed passed faster than it was supposed to,marriages(2) came and went until I ended up here in 2012. About a month and a half ago,I decided to treat myself, got on the Datsun Classified ads and found what I've wanted for all these years...my own 240Z. It's a 1972…

Hey all, figured I would introduce my self! My name is Kyle and I'm from Aldie, VA (about 45min-1hr west of DC). The first car I bought was a 1982 280zx about 10 years ago. It was a 1 owner car is pretty decent shape, and I had HUGE plans for it. Alas I was a high school student with no money and the car rotted faster than I could fix it. Next up was my '92 Miata that I had bought to be kind of a DD while I worked on the Z, But as I said the Z was getting worse and worse until I finally sold it as parts to a friend. Then it was the Miata's turn to get the fun treatment. It was turbo'd then I bought a brand new STi with hopes of turning the Miata to an all out powerhous…

Hi everyone. This will be my first time posting here. Just bought a 1972 S30Z last Friday and thought I would join a good forum. The Z has typical rust on floor boards and hatch area but other was not too bad.

Hello all and fellow Z car owners. I haven't been on here in a awhile so long I forgot my old login information. Anyhow my name is Reed Nevers and for those of you who remember me hello again. I live in Longmont Colorado and own a 72 240z. I've been restoring it and I came across a front bumper for it and I'm wondering what year it is because I don't think it will fit my 240z as a novice I can't identify the differences. Is there anypone out there that could help me identify the differences of the bumpers. I can send you a picture of it if need be. I will appreciate anyones help because if its wrong I will sell it and find the right bumper for my car. Thanks again …

Hey all, I've been reading this forum for the past few weeks, but just joined today. It looks like a great place! I am about to pick up a 280ZX sometime next week, and will be restoring it to pristine condition… That is the hope, anyways. Having never done a car restoration before, this is going to be interesting. The car has been sitting for 6-7 years and has gathered a fair bit of rust—looks like most panels are salvageable, though—and the engine doesn't run, although it isn't rusted out and looks to be in ok condition. So you might say it's going to be a bit of a challenge, but I'm excited for it! My newb question of the day is, how much would you pay for a c…

Greetings all, I have been meaning to register here for years and finally got around to it. I've been around classic Z's since I owned my first one in 1978 (a '73 240Z). I later sold it but never got it out of my system and always swore I would own another. I am now significantly older and own two...a '72 240 and '75 280. Working on them is my hobby and chance to get into my own little world for awhile I truly enjoy talking to other people about my Z's, and as most of you know it's hard to go anywhere and not have someone comment on these classic beauties! I am in the middle of completely restoring the fuel system in my 280 and will start a pictorial blog to chronic…

I just bought a 280Z yesterday and I am real excited about fixing it up. It is a 1978 2+2 with 70000 miles on it. The interior is excellent and it runs great. The only issues are the ac needing to be recharged and the typical rust about 6" down on both sides. But I guess this will be a good project for me as I plan to retire in 3 months. I have owned a 78 and a 79 back when they were new and a 75 back in 1979. I have been wanting another Z for about 10 years now. Anyway, I look forward to posting questions and hope that at some time I might be some help

Hi folks. I am a longtime roadster guy, been lurking/learning on here for a long time, and am a longtime friend of Victor Laury. A group of us are helping to sell his Z car, but I was only able to drop-off/pick-up at the MSA show in Orange on Sunday. So now to make a 1/2 way intelligent ad listing, I need help quantifying what this car has on it, other than SpeedStar SSR Mk2's, a breathed on exhaust, and a 280ZX 5 speed. Anyone in the North Orange County / Long Beach / Torrance / El Segundo area that could spend like 30 minutes and throw an eye over it and help me make a list of things (preferred head, matching #' engine? -I don't think so on this item -etc) would be g…

Hello I am visiting my mother who has owned her Datsun since back in the 80's. It is quite literally a car driven by a "little old lady" to the supermarket and golf. The car has sat in the garage for the last nearly 4 years because my mother became legally blind and has not driven it since. I will need to get the specifics of it, the exact year and mileage. I need to charge and/or buy a new battery for it before I can see the mileage (quite low I am sure) .. it has a t-roof, leather seats, is silver and is in mint condition. I thought this might be a good location to mention this car. Pity I was not in Nashville when the Zattack took place. I want to help her sell h…

Hey guys. Here's some pictures of the build-up of my car. I bought it in 2010, in November. It's a Datsun 240Z built in 1972, first bought in 1973. The car had it's engine shot and the floor was mostly rust covered with silicon kind of ish. Interior was also in bad shape. The car was originally white with dark red interior so I decided to keep that combo - with a twist. It took me half a year to get where I am now working day by day on the car. Here's what was done so far: Engine: 2.8 liter block bored 0,2mm and fully rebuilt with dished pistons, cleaned round top Hitachi carburators with fresh 20W oil, new gaskets, K&N oil filter, fresh paint on block and engine…
