Purchased my '78 280z one year ago and spent the next 10 months rehabing it to a nice daily driver. I have been very impressed with these little cars and plan on driving it a lot. I keep it covered when it rains just to keep it nice. Look forward to this sight and enjoying my Z!

Ive actually been on the forum since about July but mostly just lurking and collecting information. About me: My first project was a POS fox body mustang that was given to me as my first car. It was a legitimate basket case but i ended up touching every part of it at least twice, swapping motors and even transplanting a fuel injection system. I then moved away for college, dumped the heap and concentrated on motorcycles. The bikes were easy to keep in a car port or even drag into the living room for work plus i learned a bunch about fiberglass and weight distribution. I started looking for a project car when i was about 27 with the following requiremen…

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to Z's and the site. I purchase my baby a little over a month ago with high hopes of a complete restoration in the future. for now i have been trying to get her road worthy. Shes a 1973 datsun 240z l24, 600 cfm holley carb, 4 speed transmission, tubular headers. I would love to hear all your opinions and please remember its now where near perfect since i had only a few weeks to get her road worthy in my garage and juggling a full time job & family. (OH yeah i did it using the instrcution for the rustoleum paint job, sorry in a rush)

Hi, Name is Michal, most just call me Mike thou. I have been addicted to Zs ever since I was 14 and saw my first s30. I later learned to drive on that car which just sealed the deal on how much I wanted the car! I had a few Zs in my past most notably a 77 280z that was restored by a guy in Little Rock, AR. That car had a Rebello racing 3.1L stroker with triple mikuni carburetors, it was an amazing car. However, I was always bugged by the fact that it was another guy that built it, and even thou it was great, it never really felt like it was my car. I sold it to a buddy of mine and regretted it ever since. That was 4 years ago. Today I am about to graduate college, I final…

Hey all! I've been lusting after a Z car for a while and when one almost listerally fell in my lap, well, I had to jump! Audrey is a bone stock 76 280z, I'm the third owner... She needs some love, but I have been daily driving her no problem and really enjoying the old girl. I do have a question... I read online about swapping out the 4 speed manual for a 5 speed out of an 81 280zx... Is it a direct bolt in? If not, any other recommendations for getting her to be a 5 speed relatively painlessly? I drive on the highway to work and aside from the sheer agony of hearing that L28 screaming at 4000rpms for a half an hour, I would like a bit better fuel economy haha. Any sugge…

Hi all, I've just become a member a few weeks ago and thought I'd introduce myself. I've been yearning for a Z for a few years now, window shopping online here and there, but it wasn't until recently that I could afford to buy one. I finally found one out in sacramento and am still trying to get used to all the compliments i'm getting on the road . The car is pretty middle of the line in terms of condition - overall its fair, but it definitely needs work..especially suspension. So far i've posted a couple times and everyone here seems extremely helpful. You guys will be hearing much more from me in the future (a lot of newbie questions to come) pics Also, if any…

I have a cracked windshield on my 77 280z. So my question is,does the front windshield from a 240z or 260z fit a 77 280z? Been eyeing this abandoned, what appears to be a 240z frame, in my neighborhood that only has the windshield. No parts, doors, nothing but frame/w windshield. Gonna get it anyway to start my second project.

Hi everyone, I'm new to owning my 1973 240z but have always had a passion for the Z line. I purchase the car 3 weeks ago with plans to make it a daily but since I'm moving to Florida in a month ive been slaving every free hour I have to prepare it for the move. I'm new to carbs but have experience with everything else. So I might be posting a lot. Any help is appreciated and thank you for welcoming me into the Z community. : 1973 240z originally blue ( I think. ) came with 4 barrel conversion. (lots of hidden bonding and rust, seized 4 barrel conversion, electrical problems, cut wires, traffic signs floors, and cracked dash. . But I still live my Z!
