Hi, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I came here from the Internet Z Car Club mailing list, when the diversity among members became so great we decided that we needed our own forum just for early Z cars. So I've been here a little while, and apologize for not doing this sooner. I purchased my 71 240Z in Nov 1992, and am the third owner. This Z was originally purchased at what I believe is now Coulter Nissan in Glendale, AZ (different location). I think it was called Valley Nissan or something before (have to check paperwork). A USAF officer then purchased it used and brought it to VA in the late 1970's. It's been in paintship prison now for over two years, and finall…

Hey guys, just picked up this early 260z and so far I'm loving it! Is fairly rust free, just needs a few minor spots patched. Runs and drives GREAT! Has a header which the previous owner said came from the factory, not sure if thats true or not. Changed the oil, trans fluid, differential fluid and spark plugs already. Not sure what else to do as far as maintenance. Anyway, I'll be lurking and trying to contribute as much as possible on here and if anyone knows of any Datsun car meets in Florida hit me up!

Hello! I'm from vancouver,bc and i'm a huge nissan/datsun fan. I will hopefully own a Z in the nearish future. I currently own a 1990 nissan skyline gts-t that i'm trying to sell to buy a 240z. I love my skyline but I want to own something with more character. Joined the forums to look at the for sale ads and hopefully learn some more about z cars.

Hello and hi. I've owned both my 81 S130's for like several years now and it's been a fun ride . One's a bright red Turbo and the other's a bright blue N/A. Well I'm so not good at intros so I guess that's about it :paranoid:

I hope to start working on my dads '78 soon, mainly get it running again. Hopefully, if I can't get it to run he'll gain interest in it again. For the past decade he has said he will restore it "one day". I am sure a lot of you have heard that when trying to buy an old car from someone. He is the original owner, drove it off the lot brand new. It was his daily driver and he put approx. 260,000 miles on it before he parked it. The datsun has been sitting in the driveway, nearly untouched, for atleast 10 years. A few years ago I had it running, then attempted to start it again a few months later and ended up smoking the fusible links. I have another build going on r…

Hello all. As title says just picked one up. Actually, I drove it home. Paint, rust, body clean and all the usual. First Z, but I have had Nissans for years. I've searched this site and others for a 1977 FSM. Found one on another site but it was corrupt. Can anyone link or point me to one? Won't do much to it until after Christmas. Finishing up a '89 Conquest TSI now, and the Z is the next project. Thanks ahead of time and I'm looking forward to the project! Alan

yepp. Just currently picked up a 1972 240z with an L28 f54 block, p79 head, SU carbs, and 5 speed. I had to give up my 240sx hatch redtop sr20det for something more exciting... rust. I also daily a BMW e30 that refuses to give out. i have never worked with carbs before. i just got started stripping, sanding, and undercoating my z. Removed all the sound deadening and don't forget that disgusting rug layer that looks like an empire of mold . Dealing with nuts, bolts, and screws that don't even come out. Worst so far is my passenger side floor pan support that is braking apart into rust... hopefully that is all. The whole car is rewired, but i will have to fix that...

I thought I would finally get around to telling this story of my first Z. It was way back in the 80's that I was in the USAF stationed at McGuire in NJ. I always had a some great cars and I always was out of money. I was barely 20 and had a 79 Z-28 that was a great car, fast and black laquer custom paint with a L-82 drivetrain. I was always broke from paying car payments and high insurance in NJ. I believe a 4th of my income was funding this ride, but that's the way I rolled back then. I finally decided that I needed to get into something that didn't involve a payment and full coverage insurance. I was driving around the base and I noticed this Z(datsun type) sitting in …
