A few weeks ago (9/26) very early on a Saturday morning I set out on an adventure to pick up another Z. I hit the road at 4am...yes you read that correctly, far earlier than anyone should ever be awake! The starting point, Cedar Park Texas (suburb of Austin)...the destination, Oklahoma City which is just over 6 hours per Google Maps (and it's fairly accurate, considering I was pulling a car trailer). The goal, pick up HLS30-018482, a 1971 transition car with most all the series I bits and pieces...production date of 1/71. First obsticle, only an hour on the road and I'm starting to fall asleep. Ok, pit stop for a 5 Hour Energy Drink...20 minutes later and I'm wide aw…

Hello to all and its good to have found this resource of people who are enjoying there Z's. I have a 1973 240 with probably a quarter million original miles and the engine still has life in it. My car has been sitting for the better part of 3-4 yrs and is in need of TLC allthough I have a various times purchased new parts and cleaned up the engine area etc. but she still needs new paint and the darn front bumper was backed into years back by a large truck that didnt see me and so I either have to repair and rechrome that or go with a fibreglass one. Anyway thanks to those who set up this forum for the rest of us to use and hope to meet some of you on the road someday. Cra…

Hey guys! My name's Eric and I recently pulled my '77 280z home to start my very first rebuild. I've actually owned this car for several years but I'm just now finding the time to put into it. When I raised the hood I realized just how little I know about Z's....and cars in general for that matter. I started perusing the web in search of manuals/diagrams/forums and landed here. Seems like a good community here and I can't wait to start posting " Help me!!!" threads. I plan on documenting every step of the way. I'll have plenty of pics to post tomorrow. Thanks ahead of time! -=EMW=-

Wanted this car for about 10 years now, bugged my buddy the whole time and he finally sold it to me. The history I know o,f and not sure if it's even true, but a Marine brought this one over from Japan where he was stationed. He brought it into Camp Pendleton here in So. cal. Not sure if any of this info is right, it's registered as a 1976 260z, has fuel injection and a 5 speed, vin# S31000850, has a 1998cc engine plate says. Anyone have any idea about this car?

I think I joined this site 5 years or so ago and never had a single post, and to be honest I haven't even been much of a lurker. I mean to change that. Im certainly not new to the Datsun/Nissan scene as I have owned quite a few over the last 10 years, although I must admit my love for the Datto/Nissan's runs much deeper than just the Z's as you will see from my garage. Looking forward to getting to know you all better, there is nothing better in the auto world IMO than the comradery shared amongst fellow Datsun/Nissan enthusiasts. -Ryan

1971 240z just picked it up. I quickly fell in love with the classic styling of the old Z. Along with being my first Z it is also my first carbureted car. Its pretty nice and has a body kit that is ok. It is my weekend cruiser and might be looking to do a motor swap of some kind in the future not sure yet.

Hey all, so glad I found this site. Well after years of putting it off, I found a 1973 240z!! its sat for ten years so im in the process of tearing it down now to evaluate the damage by rust. the floorboards were cut out and replaced already. the glass and stainless are in great shape, and the body is rotted or rotting in the normal "rot" areas. need new rear inner fenders . rear fenders, rockers, and possibly a drivers side door and passenger side fender.. im just hoping nothing else (frame wise is shot) anything I should check asap to make sure i should attempt to rebuild this? this is my 1st ever rebuild. I love these cars and have always wanted one. anyone in columbus…

Hey all. Back in high school I bought my first car - a 1977 280z. A couple of years later I sold it for something brand spanking new and I've been sorry ever since. Flash forward 20+ years to a few days ago when I brought home a nearly identical '78 z. I look forward to wrenching on it to making it what it would be if Nissan built it today. Not completely a resto but a resto / upgrade. I look forward to learning from those that are active on the board.
