Hi folks, I just joined your group. I am an old Datsun nut. I have been working on, restoring, driving, Datsun Roadsters, and other weird ol' Japanese cars for 30 years. I have always admired Z's, I owned a 72 rust bucket in the early eighties, and finally bought (and drug home) a 74 260Z a few months ago. I had really been looking for a series 1 car, but came across this car down in the Bend, OR area. The car was so incredibly solid, I had to own it. And since it does not have the collector value of a series one car, I feel like I can take a bit of artistic license with the way I put the car together. I do still want it to look very stock from outside, and under the hood…

Hey everyone, just another old Z guy trying return to the fold. I currently do not own a Z but have in the past and am hoping to again soon. My first was a 74 260 which had an L26 with Triple SK's, header, and big cam. LOVED that car, not the prettiest but fast as hell and loved the look on the guys face when I'd spank his new 5.slow Mustang with my 6. Good times! That car was my crash course into the world of Z's and it taught me a lot! My next one was a 75 280. Not nearly as cool as the first but it was still enough to keep my Z obsession going. Wasn't a huge fan of the Bosch efi system though, prob cuz I knew jack about it. At the moment I'm looking for another 240 or …

Hi My name is Joe, and I am from Tucson, AZ. I am new to this site, and I am impressed. There is plenty of activity, and many informative posts here. I have had my '72 Z since new. It had been stored for a few years when I decided to pull the engine and go over it and get it on the road. It has 120K miles on it. As I worked under the car, I noticed a rust hole in the passenger side floor panel. That was the start of a 2 year restoration project that is getting close to finish line. The engine is in a shop, but most of the body, undercarriage, and interior are done. I hope to be driving it in a few months. Now I am checking out collector insurance. I see that Hagerty gets …

Hi everyone! My name is mike and I need your help. Well, not right now, on second thought maybe I do. Aaanyway, just got my first datsun. Been searching for these for over 2 years now and finally i found what i think is perfect for me. She is HLS30-56677. I wonder if anyone here has tinkered with her, although her last registration was way back in 92. She still has her California blue plates (one of the reasons why i jumped on her) but alas she has a bit of cancer. For the next year, I plan to get rid of all the body rust and reinforce her chassis (which I'm gonna need your help) and get her back on the road where she belongs. Pictures of her are on my profile album. Than…

My name is David, I live in the midwest. My current project car is a 1973 nissan 240z. We just bolted the vortec 350 with 700r4 transmission into place. It's more of a rat rod then a show car, I just felt it suited it. I have had 3 240sx's, 1 280zx coupe and 1 280zx 2+2, and this is my latest Z my 1973 240z

Hi everyone, I just picked up my first z a few days back and already love it. It's a 1972 and has a pretty solid engine, the only bad part about it is the body which has some bad rust... <a href="http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee227/wtf2kid/?action=view¤t=2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee227/wtf2kid/2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee227/wtf2kid/?action=view¤t=7.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee227/wtf2kid/7.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s235.photobucket.com/a…

Hi everyone, I just bought my secound Z car. The first was in the 80's. It has only taken me 20 years to find another. My new Z is only 36 years old. I bought it last sunday from the original owner. It is very original; original steel wheels (No hub caps, orignal radio, everything except the paint. Unfortuanlely he got into a fender bender and had a poor silver paint job done. This next weekend, I'm going to take care of the leaking gaskets. It has been driven 400 miles in the past two year. I have a laudry list of things needing attention. This winter I hope to bring it slowly back to a presentable life. Does anyone know where I can find a website to help fi…

Hey everybody, My name is John and I'm a newbie to the whole car restoration scene. My knowledge on car building and engine work is very limited. I recently started looking for a new hobby to share with my son and the only thing I could think of that made sense was this. I love my son and I love cars so what could be better? Anyhow, I've gotten the bug for building a 1971-73 240Z. Not really looking for a pristine ride but rather something I could really put some elbow grease into and build from the ground up. I'd like to build a nice and clean Z with some subtle modifications (mostly to the interior and motor). The body will look mostly stock with the exception of the …

Hi everyone I have a 1977 280z. It had a stock l28e motor in it until I ran it to hard So i purchased a l28et block and p90 head. I swap the parts off my l28e motor to the short blocked l28et motor and now i'm waiting stuck figuring out how to put a 1982 280zx turbo harness in my 280z other than that I have bigger plans to auto cross the car and use it as a street/track/ daily driver car. I got the car for a steal and plan on hanging on to it. I also have some aftermarket parts for the engine via intercooler, turbo, wastegate, boost controller, and more stuff to turn up the fun. It currently has lowering springs, front lip, aftermarket rims, seat harnesses, and bucket se…
