Recently purchased a 1976 Z with 4000 miles since new. Had a lot of help from a local Denver member and a great mechanic. Carefully drove back to Calgary from Boulder Co. Z now has 5100 miles. Will detail and post some pictures. Have all documentation from new- have talked to the original owner in Denver (84 years old now). From what the mechanics and club members have told me it has the original headlights, windshield, etc. There are still factory stickers underneath and throughout engine compartment. Mint interior. Changed to close range 5 speed in Boulder and had to get full Canadian mechanical inspection. Everyone who has had it on a hoist or looks it over is amazed.…

Hi, been watching this site for a month now. Me and my wife just purchased a 1977 280Z with 63,600 original miles. Total project car, but body is solid and it drives. Now if I can find any more people from Montana, that would be great. Just a couple of electrical issues. lights and front turn signals do not work and the wipers only go on slow speed.... well just point my ignorant butt to the right direction and it will be greatly appreciated. Oh and I am already looking forward to talking and or meeting any one of the members and being a lifelong member, Thanx!!!

No that is not a question. I am an RC heli enthusiast and WattTheHeli is my online persona so I figure why mess with watt works? (Promise not to do that again) I have a stock 4 speed 76 280Z that I am trying to breathe life back into and as a result I have been surfing the Z forums. I am pretty much a lurker but I am not afraid to ask a question if the answer eludes me. I join every forum I see but I am pretty sure I am going to make this one my home when it comes to posting. I dig the personalities I am seeing here. I prefer to be on a forum where questions are met with answers instead of snide comments. History of the car: The cam shaft on my Z froze due to clogged …

Barn Fresh

Hi, I'm Larry from southeastern New Hampshire. Here is 1971 #20334 back out in the light after twenty years in a barn. Downsides: Interior mouse damage, paint is shot, rotten tires, no clutch, no brakes, carbs all dried out. Upside: No rust Oil level was still up on the stick, didn't see any rust on the cam through the oil filler hole. Pulled the spark plugs and pumped in a 50/50 mixture of WD-40 and ATF, let it sit. She cranks, but that first revolution was a toughie. Had to bump the starter several times to get her moving. Spun over pretty good after that. Bit of pus came out of #1 plug hole, there must have been some crud in that one. I intend to restore all the…

I have lurked around on this site for a number of years and now that I'm getting back to my 72 240Z project, I'm amazed at the wealth of information, tips and knowledge that I'm finding here. As my post title says, I am an original owner of a 1979 280ZX. I purchased it new Nov. 11, 1978 and the cost was $11,111. The build date was 7/78. It served as my daily driver for 6 years and since then has led an easy life of Z Club events, Z drives and track days. My 72 240Z project is a car I have owned for 11 years and have never driven it. I put it away in storage, to await the day when I would have the time to do the restoration. I'm the 3rd owner and it has 100K miles on it.…
