Greetings, fellow Earthlings, I've been doing a painstakingly slow restoration on a 1970 240z (am in year number 4....so far:ermm:). My Z and I live in Arizona and we are members of Desert Z Association. I wish I had found this site years ago, as it appears as though there is a wealth of information from all of you that could have saved me alot of time and money. Anyway, I am getting pretty close to finishing my project but have come up with snag that I can't seem to fix. I had removed the original 3-point seat belt harnesses in order to have the metal parts rechromed. Now I find myself, some 2 years later, with 8 different belts of various lengths and can't seem to figur…

I am officially the owner of my first Zcar!!! A 72' S30 to be exact. Looking to restore this baby back to her prime condition, with a couple modest mods of course! Looks like there is a L28/P79 set up already, so I think I got a decent start point. Anyway, she runs pretty well so I'm leaving the engine alone for now, but just bought a front suspension rebuild kit and an Energy Suspension master kit and it should be here by Fri. Only problem is I have very little knowledge in mechanics but willing to try anything. I've been searching the web for the install instructions for all the pieces because I don't think neither kit will come with one. If anyone knows where to find…

I am a new member to the Classic Z Cars forum. I am the original owner of my 260Z, which was purchased from Billy Gordon Datsun in Burlington, NC, May 23, 1974. A little about my 260Z:My car has been through quite a transformation since purchasing it in 1974. MotorSport springs, Larger Sway Bars, Datsun Competition Headlight Covers, Rear Overrider Bar, Custom Interior (Velour), Mono Steering Wheel, Alpine CD Deck/Custom Speakers/500 Watt Amp, Wink Mirrors/Racing Mirrors. This is just a start...

Hi guys, Been on this site for a long time but just making my first post. I have owned 8 240-Z's all with the original L-24, till now. One of my current cars is a 1971 240 Z with an N-47 head that I converted to four screw SU's. The car runs terrific with great power but I believe it's running too rich because I smell fuel and fuel economy is in the 17 mpg range. I'm running an electric fuel pump (3 1/2 pounds pressure) and currently have the jets screwed out only one full turn (spec is 2 1/2). Timing is set to factory spec and the floats in each carb are at spec as well. At this point I'm leaning toward changing the needles out (SM or N-54) to see if that makes any diffe…

Im new member Stanley. Got 73 z automatic for cheap about 4 yrs ago. It made some bad clunking noises. The seats & suspension were shot. Fixed all that. Euro dist made it run good. Blown head gasket was good thing - new head gave me a bunch of low end torque. Have the good SU's. Still plenty to work on - lots to learn. Hope to get it like Mr. K would like....

Hello, everyone.. I've always been a fan of the z cars, as i've owned two of them, but yet they were a little bit older than the classics. Let me start off with a name, my name is Jonathan, i'm 21, and now stationed in Fort Hood, TX... thanks to the Army! Since i've been there my wife and i have owned 2 z's.. and now i'm looking to own a third total, two we will have then. Right now, we currently own a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, and a 2005 Nissan Titan, King Cab, 4WD. We used to own, before buying the newest 300, a 1991 300ZX Twin Turbo, that was super white. So, ever since the purchase of the first z, we've become very fond of them. So now, once i return from this d…

Hello, my blue 1970 240Z is the first car I purchased in High School around 1987. Made in 6/70 she was a daily driver for me until about 1993. Since then been garaged. I will post pics when I have them. Great Automobile! I want to get her back on the road but right now needs clutch cylinder. Also I want a set of 70-71 steel wheels for originality sake. Nice site and club. Thank You and Best Wishes.

A week ago I was visiting my parents in the US (I live in Norway). While I was there I happened to stumble a cross a guy with a couple of Z cars. (Brent, owner of Z-Docs in Tampa, FL) I hadn't been planing on buying a car. But I have wanted an S30 for quite some time. I said I was looking for an old Z car. 240z, 260z or 280z with a manual transmission. As it turned out, he had a green 1971 Datsun 240z sitting. The car had been restored a couple of years ago. Rebuilt engine and transmission. A full body repaint. (Not the best paint job I've seen, but at least not much rust) And the interior was in pretty good condition. But there is a couple of minor issues which I don't…

Hello all, I am new to the forums and to the Z but not new to wrenching. I have just inherited a 1972 240z from my aunt who was the first owner of it. This has been my dream car since i was a child and it is finally in my possesion!! It is about 99 percent original(had to change the drivers seat belt and couldnt find a factory one, and she had the seats recovered in the 80's) and I am planning on staying on that path. My question is was there a performance division of datsun that produced things like exhaust and suspension components when these were new? Something similar to what Yenko was to the Camaros. I would like to stay with factory parts. Also do you all think th…

Hello all, I am not really new. I have followed this site for years as I had a 72 240Z for 13 years. I sold it and have toyed with some other cars. I like the odd and rare. I finally got a Fairlady Z. Want an older one but I could not pass this one up as it was too nice and too original. This car was brought over from Japan in 1985 by a Military guy and then all I can tell is that is sat for 22 years in a garage. The guy I bought it from pulled it out and spent some money to get it running again. Now it runs great and it is all original including the L20 engine. Has original paint. interior etc. I even have the original rims. It has only 40K miles on it. I …
