Minutes ago made the connection so Hi everyone. I have a 74 260Z 2+2 Garage Queen which is yearning for the road. A year ago we did a junk yard rescue of this car and what a learning experience. The interior has been replaced with quality house carpet and the seats remounted with thick rubber bushings. The head was inspected and machined and the carbs were claned and adjusted. We installed a new updated exhaust and cleaned and repainted the engine. After setting cam and crank in position and aligning all the marks she will not start. Since the ON part of my ignition switch was not functioning I replaced it. Now I have the turn signals, electronic module and fuel pump oper…

Hello! I created a new name but originally joined this site back in 2004 under the name 'jepherz'. I inquired about resetting the password on that account bt never heard back from where ever I sent the email. Oh well! Anyways, I was originally looking for a Z car back in 2004 but got into AWD galant VR4s instead. After years of playing that game and racing with my project cars, I finally got the itch again to own a Z car. I ended up finding a '73 240 locally on Ebay. Turns out the car was sort of a basket case, but I was looking for a project anyways. The car when I got it about a month ago: How it sat as of a few weeks ago: I now have removed all of the…

I was given a Datsun 280Z runs/drives tagged and inspected so all that is good, but it has been in an accident and I am having to locate front end parts: hood, bumper, grill, headlight "extension" and a few other things. My daughter and I are going to do all of the work ourselves. We rock crawl and mud our Suzuki samurais and have plenty of mechanical experience, but I NOTHING about Z cars. We are in the Houston area and would love to meet up with a few people that knows this car in & out to help with knowledge. Any thing I need to be worried about? rust, cracks, frame sections?

I have owned and been completely modding my "high-tech" 76 280Z since 1989. It is so close to being finished that I thought another project would be timely. I picked up this 12/71 240Z from GA. It was pretty much an original owner car with complete paperwork. Zero rust, and pin straight, except for a dent in the drivers door. It has an immaculate dash. I bought it as a roller because the engine bay had been vacated to repair it's peeling paint from 1987. I received all the parts to get it back on the road plus some extra parts. I forfeited the engine because it was on the ground in GA and had been opened up and sat out in the rain for several years. In my garage i…

Hey there folks, It's been a while since I came back to this site and just wanted to state a few things before I run away to tear apart my engine for the Z. First off the Z is nearing completion, I'll throw pics up here either sometime today or tomorrow. Here is the laydown for now. Engine: CA18DET (JDM) (More details later, I need to run =-P)

I finished the restoration some time ago, but we all know a project car is always a project car! The latest adventure is trying to find information [or a knowledgeable and trustworthy Z mechanic] for a differential rebuild. I have an R200 that has been diagnosed with a front pinion bearing that's going bad. Although I'd rather find someone else to do the work, with a detailed parts list I'm willing to go it alone. Any suggestions, tips, instructions, or contacts for mechanics in the Central or Southern Indiana area are welcomed and encouraged! Thanks!! -Rob

Here is a few shots of my 1972 240Z. I have had her for a couple of years and she's a work in progress. Since I purchased her I have: Professionally rebuilt engine (performance cam, electronic ignition, etc.), added MSA ceramic coated 3-2 headers and alumizied exhaust, and loads of miscellaneous stuff. She runs pretty strong. Let me know what you think
