Hey, just joined. Bought this 71 #33909 off BaT a few days ago form an owner of 30 years. The car is straight, all original sheet metal and rust free so I have a nice base. The car is now with Robert at the 240Z Guild down in Madill, OK for an evaluation and some refreshing. Have had lots and lots of cars but my first Z so this will be a learning experience. Also, I'm decent at the conceptual stuff but an unskilled fairly miserable wrencher so I got that going for me ?

Hey I just joined here! IV been planning this build for about 5 years now and finally been actively working on it in my free time here and there for about a year and a half! This is the first engine swap I have ever attempted and it now runs and drives! Next step is an exhaust system and then getting it on a Dyno for the standalone ecu to be fully tuned! Please ask any questions and im very open to suggestions as to what to do next, because it still is a bone stock 280z chassis... And that's not good due to the 400hp minimum I plan to make at the wheels. The engine is a 1jzgte out of a jzx90 the Toyota mark II , cresta , or the mark X as it's also refered to , basically …

Hey guys, first time Z owner. I picked this up last year in September. I was curious if anyone knew who owned it in the years prior. Supposedly it had been restored in the late 90's but I can't get info on that owner. This Z is a 71 with a 10xxx Vin number. Racing green with tan interior. The steering wheel is not series 1, and the door jam plate is missing, but the engine is matching. The transmission is a 5 speed. The guy I bought it from said it was brought over from the UK? Which I found weird, but idk. Anyways, it is rusty as all get out, so I've bought an Eastwood 135 MIG welder, new headlight housings, front fenders, and random things. Looking at buying…

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and also to the Z life. I have already looked around quite a few times and this forum was always very helpful. I was always fond of the S30's and earlier this year I finally found a 76' 280Z that I could afford (and that my wife would let me buy). I don't have a lot of mechanics notions, but the idea was also to learn as much as possible from this project, as it has relatively simple mechanics. So I have already started tinkering with it and repairing some stuff to get it on the road. This car has a L28 with twin carburetors, weird, because every time I see something about the 280Z it is injection, but the car does have signs…

Hey, everyone. I've been lurking on here for a few months researching and utilizing info toward restoring a recently acquired '78 280Z and wanted to say "thanks". We're still in the earliest phase of putting things together for a restoration, but even improving the little things in the meantime adds up to the big picture. I've had roommates and friends that have/had S30 projects throughout the years, and have owned a Z31 turbo for nearly a decade, so this 280Z isn't completely strange to me. But I am a bit "rusty" when it comes down to certain details. ? We picked up this low-dollar 280Z last spring in anticipation of a long-term restomod, but were surprised to…

This past weekend I picked up this: Here she is all loaded up and ready to goto her new home. Sitting at my friends shop. Car had not been started in 10 years. With in 20min of having it we had it running somewhat. Pretty glorious if you ask me. Going to have the carbs rebuilt. Its a 71 series 1, has either 160k or 60k on it. Factory A/C car, all original and everything works on it!! Im really excited and amped to do this car, the rust on it isnt bad at all with the worst being a dime size hole in the passenger front floor board. The car was a GA car its whole life, I even have the original 40yr old keys and original title!!! It should be a fun, albeit e…

Hey everyone, I have finally joined the forums after being a long time lurker. I came in the z world after driving a 78 280z CA car around the bay area over 10 years ago. I later bought that same car, shipped it over the Texas and gave it to my parents as a birthday gift. The car was going to be junked and I got it for shipping only (not a bad deal). My mother always wanted one and it was the best way to bring one in the family. Below is what the car looks like currently although this picture is a few years old.

Hi, I'm into Datsun's, RX-7's and aircooled VW's. I own a '73 240Z two RX-7's and a Beetle. I love Datsun's in general. I'm pretty much obsessed with my Z car and I'm gradually adding to it and getting it closer to how I want it to be. I post pics of all my cars and other stupid stuff on Instagram quite a bit. The main thing is to enjoy the cars as much and as often as possible.

Not sure where to begin on this so I’ll just start with the details. I currently have three 240Z’s occupying my three car garage. When I purchased Z number three, I booted my wife’s Mazda Tribute out of the garage so I could keep all three Z’s well protected in said garage. She was Ok with that. Now, a 1970, 1600 roadster that I have had my eye on for a while is available. I spoke to my wife and told her I would like to pick the car up this weekend and restore it, and she was totally fine with it. She said as long as I paint it red (the color of her purse) and let her drive it, that would be great. The original color is red, so that’s good with me. No fig…
