Hi all, It's been several years since I've done anything with my Z other than push it to a new storage location. Unfortunately, the inactivity has not been so friendly to the Z. The brake and clutch reservoir are empty and the rear brakes have frozen. I joined the forum in 2000 when my Z was a running project. I moved from Minnesota to Maine and eventually got the Z here, too. Been busy with work and family and house in the time since. I have a great new garage and I'm looking forward to getting the Z back on the road this spring/summer.

Traveled 2 hours this morning to save one from rusting away in a guy's yard. It is a 78 4 speed, baby blue...and I was told it only has 60,500 miles. Based on the condition of the hinges and hatch struts...I like to believe it. I am the 4th owner. The car has been sitting around 2 years wasting away but luckily I found it. Look forward to a long fun restoration. Pictures will be up soon.

Hi everyone, I picked up a 1976 280z 2+2 this weekend. Drove 3 hours straight to get it home so I enjoyed my ride home. Hopefully I'll find answers to most of my questions here and will help others out as well.

Hi from sunny South Africa, HS30-H was refering on hybridZ to this site often enough for me to make move. Somewhat this site fits my interests more: my nissans are fine just the way they are... I wonder if there are other members from black continent (no pun intended)? Martin

HI All, In 1987 or so, I test drove a 1978 280Z, I think it was $1500-2000, in that range. I don't remember why I passed on it, other than it was the first car I had looked at in that search, and I wanted to check out some others. I ended up buying a 1979 RX-7. This was pre-internet, you have to remember. While that was a cool car (flip up headlights!) it didn't have that awesome "sitting in a cockpit" feel that the Z had. Well, that and the engine blew almost immediately, but hey... Fast forward 30 years, I finally reversed the decision, and got a 240Z. I have been tracking them for a few years. I didn't want a project car, I know I'll never find time to get i…

Introduced myself in the other introductions forum, but just a quick recap.. I picked up this 71 240 from a friend about 4 weeks ago who bought it two years ago. The previous owner to that had the car fully restored and it really is in amazing shape inside and out. So far, I've done a few little things mechanically (brake booster/tie rod ends/oil change/plugs). I've also done a few cosmetic things....15" Rota RKR's with 205 55 15 Dunlop Direzza's, lowered the suspension and headlight covers. The car is an automatic, so I picked up a 5 speed wide ratio for it and have gotten all of the other parts already here or on order, so that will be my next big project with it in…

Lubbock, Texas. In late fall of 1969, I was subscribed to several automotive publications like Road & Track, Car and Driver, etc. In one or more of those magazines, I saw pictures and read articles of a “new sports carâ€ being introduced by Datsun. I was hooked. I owned a Porsche 912 Targa at the time, and my then wife laid down the law: NO Z-CAR UNLESS THE PORSCHE IS SOLD. I had been autocrossing the Porsche with little success because of its handling characteristics and was tired of finishing last in four-car classes. I knew I was better than last! I had broken my foot while dancing and also had some surgery done whilst the ad for the Porsche ran in the Dallas pa…

Finalizing purchase on a new old Pacific Blue 280z 5-speed. Have known this specific car for 30 years - my best friend's dad owned and he recently passed. He was an Air Force F4E pilot and was meticulous, but car was driven infrequently. None of the family are car guys or want it, but want keep "in the family". Funny flew up to Sun N Fun air show with my buddy and his brother law (he and the sister have Z now) and were reminiscing...asked what happened to car and he said "you want it?" I've always loved that car...and a More than a fair price, no rust (that I or they know of), runner with a new clutch, new door cards and white interior that was new at one point ;). …

Howdy all, my name is Chip and I enjoy my car illness far more than my wife does. I'm in industrial supply sales by day and own a restoration shop that occupies all the time she'll let it. I currently have a low mileage 260Z and am picking up the 240Z's this fall when me, my son and his wife's vacation schedules could work together. I'll post pics as I make progress on these cars and client cars if they ok it. I'm working on a 79 280ZX currently for a client, full cosmetic restoration and a couple 69 Mustangs.

Picked up a dirt cheap 76 280z runner/driver. Always liked these cars so why not add another project to the pile. Needs some body work, but i'm not going for show car. this will end up just being a cool looking driver. I will be making or buying some new frame rails as one is pretty much toast. Also do the floor pans at the same time. Have the stock tank out, was all bashed in and not too clean. So I will be dropping in a fuel cell in place of the spare tire. Also have all the EFI/harness and stock manifold off it. Planning to go 4barrel carb and a new header and 2.5" exhaust. Just trying to have fun with this build so there will be some different ideas and creative touch…
