Hello everyone! I thought someone might be interested in this event the Carolina Z Club is putting on, our first annual Z_Hunt. It's a driving event through the beautiful, twisty and scenic roads through Northwestern NC and Southeast TN. It's an interesting blend between a "Poker Run" and "Scavanger Hunt", IMO, and it will benefit the families of the NC National Guard. I have a 280Z that unfortunately will not be there because it is in the middle of a restoration (will be in my Silver WRX instead), but I'd love to see more Classic Z's at this event. Hope to see you there! Here are the links: http://carolinazclub.com/Z_Hunt08/Docs/Z_Hunt08_PR.pdf and the longer version in…

Stumbling around the internet a bit ago and came across this site: http://www.carolinatrophy.com/ I thought "Cool! a rallye in my area (Western North Carolina)...I wonder what the age requirements are (for the cars, not the participating drivers)?" Alas, I was sooo happy to see that anyone with a pre-1980 car could get in. My first rallye...would the car be ready? Could it be ready? Wait, what does it cost... For competitors, entry into this unique and exciting event for a car and crew of two persons is US$4,950 Every car entry fee includes: *Five nights accommodation for two (double occupancy) at the incomparable Inn At Lake Lure, the historic hotel located …

All: Had the pleasure of being an entrant in the Rolling Iron Auto Show at Allaire State Park today. Of the 300 or so cars there, I had the only Z-car, and one of the few foreign cars in the show. The foreign cars consisted of MGs, Austin-Healeys, a few Fiat 500s and a Spyder, and Iso Grifo and a Ferrari 512BBi. I was surprised there were no E-Types (there were a few last year), but more so by a) the fact that there were no other Japanese classics and the number of people that asked me about the car. Many people told me how "I had one when I was younger" and how much they enjoyed the car. I spoke about how few actually still exist, and received quite a bit of compl…

I was referred over here to Classic Z Cars from the JNC - I'm in Hawaii (O'ahu) and contemplating a Hakosuka / Kenmeri purchase in the next year or so (hopefully) - then found out that Miles has one here in Hawaii. Sent him a PM, but it looks like he hasn't been on the board in a few months. Anyone in touch with him? Would love to meet up and see his Hakosuka. I need to find out if my tall butt (6'6"/198cm) actually fits in one before I go too far down the road with this crazy idea. I fit in classic Minis though, so I'm hoping I'll be ok. I don't fit in the 240/260/280Z or I'd already have one. I think it has to do with the sloping roof. Looks like the KGC10 / K…

I have no idea if the so cal members of this forum have ever gotten together, whether its something done regularly or whether it happened and everyone wound up hating each other... Anyone want a beer? I'm in Riverside. I wonder how many people we can rally for an informal meetup or have I had a few too many myself...
