One of the many good things about being retired is that I have the time to completely WASTE my time, whenever I have the time to waste it. Today, with nothing on my plate that really NEEDED doing, I dug out the January 2003 edition of Just Cars magazine and carried out a price comparison of cars against the current (January 2005) edition. Now, while I didn't use a calculator, I'm reasonably sure about my results. Keep in mind that this is taken over a two year period and applies to cars that are, quote, "Condition A: The car will be in excellent condition. It is likely to warrant a score of at least 85/100 in a concourse event". And, "The values shown in the Just Worls C…

Hi All, I was putting together my new spring/shock combo tonight and found that when it was all assembled there was virtually no preload on the spring at all, and it was free to rotate in the perch. I have Tokico HP Shocks and a set of lowered king springs. I understand that once installed the weight of the car will load up the spring, but am concerned that if the suspension gets near full travel the spring may dislodge. Is anyone else running this combo, or is anyone with lowered king or similar springs had any problems? Is there a way to secure the spring into the perch? Thanks

I have a cannon tripple webber manifold that i was going to setup with solex mikini carbs, but now i have sold the car that i was going put them on to so... I have two 40mm mikini sidedraft carbs(recent reco's) on a toyota manifold, that i was going to put on the manifold and i was sussing out getting the third one-- $450 for the lot anyone?email me for pics/info on datfreak@dodo.net.au

Hi All, Has anyone bought the Carpet Kit from AllZ parts in Sydney. The guy described it a "2 x floor carpet and sill, and cargo area". It's $235 which is pretty good, but too much to throw away it's not real flash. Also, any one got any suggestion where to get new diff mounts for a reasonable price? Thanks

Do I need a patrol clutch..?

Just wondering how I can tell the difference between a Patrol flywheel and a Z flywheel? ONly reason I ask is that me and Deus Ex both have an F54 block, when he went to get a clutch, he had to get a patrol one as the Z one didnt fit...we didnt take any measurements though so I cant remember what size it was. Anyone know a way I can tell without buying one to see if it fits ? Cheers
