Well since my well documented last outing I havent even found a zed I wanted to see in person yet, but I thought I might be mssing something. So where do you recomend I look? So far I have used the trading post, and now and then I look at the for sale section of this site and zcar.com. Are there any other good sites out there? Or any of the monthly or weekly car mags I should be looking at? Just to remind anyone incase they have found a zed in their garage that needs a new home, I am looking to spend somwhere around 5-6 grand at the moment (budget increases fortnightly :classic: ) and I guess a 260 2+2 would top my list, just due to the quality of car I can get at that pr…

I'm just wondering which of the many varied Datsun models were actually sold in australia? Anyone know of a website listing aussie Datsun models? (I'm thinking along the lines of the earlier Datsuns, say pre '65)

Just some observations I've made about driving my zed, and looking for some discussion of others experiences. Two things I have noticed with my zed is that it not a car that you can just get in, and drive fast (comfortably) if you don't know it and that it doesn't feel anywhere near as quick as it is. On the first point, I'm only just getting to the point now after driving the zed daily for a few months, that I am really getting comfortable with it and how it behaves. Never the less I am still fairly cautious when pushing it. On the other hand I can hop in my mates R32 GTS-t and flog it till the cows come home, having had many less hours behind the wheel, but do it quit…

I'am hoping to either get my 260z repainted (bare metal) and put my l28-rebuilt with flat top pistons, bigger cam, 2" jag su's or webbers ported head- and redo the interior- put in my tokico shocks with lowered spring etc etc etc or selling it as is and buying a 240z for big bucks that has already had a repaint and is pretty original..(Anyone got one??-email me!) So what does everyone have planned for this year with their z cars?

I was somewhat shocked when I got the prices from all z parts: Inner: $185 Outer top: $55 Outer sides: 2 x $22 Glass: $145 Total: $429 I seriously just don't have that sorta money, I can't spare any more body parts and I've already sold my soul. I'm slowly killing brain cells with exhaust fumes here so I do need to replace them.....so anyone know of any other places where I can get them at a reasonable price?

Ive decided to get my headers ceramic coated. Both Jet-hot and HPC cost about the same. At the moment There is a lot of heat generated in the engine bay. I have a non-vented hood, a round top su's, and a rx-7 electric fuel pump. I still get a little vapour lock when its a warm day, say 25C+ and ive been driving for a fair while. Ill stop at lights or something and im there for a couple of minutes ill "chug" when a accelerate away. I dont have a heat shield, should I get one, or fabricate one as well as the ceramic coating? Anyone else get this prob with unwrapped headers? Cheers John

Like many, the rubber strip on my bumper bars are well and truely trashed, the two that remain in place. I remember hearing that one of our aussie fords used the same or very similar strip that fits on our bumpers. :cheeky: Problem is I can't remember what year or model it was! Anybody know and care to shed some light? Cheers

Anybody had any experience with solex locks? They are a tubular/cylinder type lock. Similar to the club lock thingies. I'm interested because of thier almost immune to the "screwdriver" attack. Any thoughts? http://www.noelsautoparts.com.au/pics/Nice%20Products/solex_m_big.jpg

hi guys I was hoping one of yas might know a good seat place to take my drivers seat to. Its an original white vinal one out of my 260. Has cracks, sags, etc. I took it to blackmans and another joint in melb, but both want around 350-400 bucks to make it right. Any ideas. Just concentrating on the drivers one for the moment. I also thought about dropping some mx5 seats in as the passenger seat isnt much better, but want to keep it original as it car still has factory radio, carpets, and spare tyre. any help on the seat situation would be great cam finnally found z one
