I have had an inconsistent engage point on my clutch since I installed it last fall. Some times it engages right off of the floor and some times half way through the throw of the peddle. It wouldn't bother me so much but lately when it's engaging half way through the peddle I hear a wooshing/grinding noise coming from the clutch area. The sound is also quite inconsistent (ca. 20% of the time). It happens more when the car is in gear and less when in neutral. I have tried rebuilding the master, replacing the master, replacing the slave, replacing the rubber line and this weekend I dropped the transmission to take a look but all appears normal. I am using a 240mm cent…

The car is a 1978 280Z during lunch break today I pulled it and tested it on the machine. The tester had failed it at low rpm but passed it at high rpm. The car did die twice today when i came to a complete start and was a pain to start. I do have one on order that should arrive Wednesday. Is it normal for it to pass a high rpm an fail on low?

I put a set of Konig 17" wheels on my car . I got them from Motorsport...they are made especially for early "Z" cars. On hard right turns the left rear tire hit the inside fender. I was looking into springs/shocks etc but a friend pointed out something odd. When standing behind the car looking toward the front you can see the tire sticking out a little on the left. On the right you can't. This is telling me that the left wheel is further out (from the center of the car) than the right. Does anyone have any idea how this is possible & what can be done. Thanks.

Hell all This past morning I went out to start the Z. Outside temp was about 90 - its Arizona its hot. Car started fine but it runs on five cylinders for the first 30 or so seconds and then is fine. Anyone have any ideas before I go head long into figuring this out? It did it once more when I started it this past afternoon - after sitting for ~7 hours. Again cleared up after a few seconds. Doens't seem to lack power. Thanks Jan

Hey guys, I'm trying to put my engine together on a bit of a budget and made a serious bonehead move :-/ I was using a 73' service manual and forgot that the early rods used smaller bolts..... Long story short I overtorqued them and broke one. Im sure they are all stretched and no longer serviceable. Does anyone have a set of stock 8mm bolts they would like to part with? I should buy a set of ARP bolts but life is on a budget so I was hoping somebody has a good set. Thanks guys! Eric

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the studs on the rear strut mount? P.O. stripped one out when he installed his POS homemade strut brace.

Hey, I understand that the passenger side shocks are harder to remove because it usually requires dropping the gas tank, but I cannot figure out how to get to the upper bolts of the housing/shield/cover on the driver's side bumper shocks? Would cutting it (or the whole shock) be easiest? Sidenote: The fin on the back of the car that flushes the rear end to the bumper -- how does this come off? (Looks like small welds maybe?) Thanks!
