I have searched hear and can't find what I am looking for so hear is the question. I have pressure tested the ac system and it held 80 lbs pressure. I evacuated the system to -30" for 1 1/2 hours and put one 12 oz can of r-12 in system and the gauge is showing 80 psi and I can't seem to get the compressor clutch to come on. I have 12 volts to the pressure switch on the receiver / drier. Does this power come in from the micro switch and thermostat or does it go there after the pressure switch. I tried to jump out the PS pins at the connector but still did not come on. Does it need a certain minimum pressure in the system before it will come on and if so what tells it what…

I just finished painting my engine compartment. I am ready to re-install componets and I have all new rubber grommets for the firewall. My question is; the heater hose grommets are bellowed on one side. Does that bellowed section go out, toward the engine compartment, or does it go inward, toward the interior of the car? Any help would be appreciated, DT

My '71 240Z is leaking gas from the filler, specifically the actual port. I can fill the tank just fine with no leak to the ground. However, after sitting for a few minutes at home (and I believe even probably while driving) fuel begins to seep between the tank cap collar and the filler neck, sending fuel down the side of the car. Today it was bad enough that a puddle formed. I believe that the cool gas from the pump is heating up and expanding as I drive home. The question is how can this be dealt with? I'm guessing a return line blockage? - The tank was boiled out and cleaned at a radiator shop a few months ago - Rotted hoses from fuel tank to evap tank were replaced - …

I am attempting to vacuum the A/C system after replacing the receiver/drier. The system was previously converted from R12. There is an R134a adapter on the low/suction side port but there is no adapter on the high side port- just the brass cap on an a brass port. The FSM details pulling a deep vacuum first on the gauge manifold low side, then opening the manifold valve to draw a vacuum on the high side. I see two problems. First, without the high-side port adapter, I can't attach the quick-disconnect fitting and follow the FSM procedure. Secondly, I won't be able to read high pressure while charging the system even if I just pull a vacuum from the low side. I've looked a…

I recently installed the Petronix ignitor and Flame Thrower 3ohm coil. I have wired it to the ballat resistor, one side of ballist resistor, and directly to the coil and still get a miss at 3500 to 4000 rpm.I have new *mm accell wires new denso platnium plugs cap and button. Timing is good. My ? is has anyone got the 3ohm coil to work properly? I have the factory coil back and wired to factory specs and it runs fine. I have searched for this and have come up with no solution.

Had a miss at 4500 rpm 2 weeks ago at S.I.R. dragstrip. Repeated it (with backfire) at 4500 in 2nd, flat-out from stop a few times around here. Car (mostly stock 73 240z, automatic, early SU's, euro dist, clean balance tube, best run 15.68 sec) runs strong otherwise, never misses at 4500 or higher when cruising. After checking other posts here and elsewhere, figure I might get a Mallory comp70 LP to replace the one by the tank (which doesn't seem to work - no sound by broomstick method). Yes, checking ignition, filters, will switch to NGK, etc., but might still need help with g-force on gas in small stock fuel lines. Would like to hook it up with a switch to use for d…
