I have a 72 240z and the original antenna came with two plug-in wires (blue w/red stripe & blue w/white stripe) and the ground at the top of the antenna body. I recently bought a 73 antenna that only has one plug in with all three wires inside. So, matching the wires, I spliced the 73 antenna to receive the 72 plug-ins. The antenna is manual and works by a little toggle switch I have mounted on the console. My problem is, I was able to get the antenna to fully extend but now it will not go down. Any suggestions to fix this will be greatly appreciated. Chase

I really need to replace all of the vacuum hoses on my '72 and after searching the web I can't find all of the hoses (not even MSA). Has anyone used the generic Silicone hose kits or injector/fuel line hoses? I know I won't get the pretty bends, but I'm thinking as long as I keep the arc wide enough I should be fine. Any suggestion on what sizes (I.D.) I'll need? Thanks. - Dave

I have a 1980 10th anniversary 280zx automatic. This is a CA car with 98,000 miles and up until now has been running great. Now when I accelerate I feel a hesitation in the engine like it is holding back, when I give it more gas it sometimes responds and other times hic cups a couple times and pops. A couple times it has stalled out when just making a slow turn. also (this is new) while running at 70mph the tach has dropped to zero and stalled out then picked up again. this now has happened 4 times and the last time it stayed off for 15 seconds or so and then started up again. anybody encountered this previously? No idea what it may be. Maybe dirt in the gas tank?

hey guys, i just bought a project z car. im in the process of fixing the clutch. i get fluid from the master to the slave cylinder but its just not disengaging the clutch, and the pedal feels ultra light like theres no pressure. do you think i need a new slave cylinder? or can i fix the one thats on there? thanks guys!

Hi all, I am new to this forum and those in it and I wish this first post was under better circumstances. I will try to be as clear as I can be here just please have a heart and skip the RTFM responses, thanks in advance. My father owned a 73 240z and he passed away last week. The car had been a project we were working on and I am trying to get it running to take to the funeral on Thursday night (June 14). One of the things that was done on the car was the carbs were replaced with reman units from ztherapy. I just wanted to confirm that the engine and transmission can be pulled as a unit. Radiator's out, of course. I thought I installed it assembled using a load leveler by myself, but that was 12-13 years ago and my memory isn't always accurate. 8( The engine is being pulled tomorrow so that's why I posted here. The Problem: What started out as an intermittent power loss during acceleration has progressed to nearly a constant problem including at start up. I am now relegated to starting the car in the driveway and an occasional trip around the neighborhood. It does however has it’s moments. Just 2 months ago after not starting it for a couple of weeks, it started up, idled smooth and revved up smoothly so I took it out and it didn’t act up so I took it on the closest highway and had it up to 80mph and had a lot more but was afraid of getting a ticket. I drove my 73 from my old house to new house. Replaced points with Pertronix ignition and flamethrower coil. 3 wire tach wasn't working and replaced that as well. Car starts but dies when key is released to run position. All fuses are good. After said problem I replaced solid state voltage regulater with stock voltage regulator with same results. Any ideas?

Hello all This past weekend I did a tune up in the old Z, new plugs, new wires new rotor. (the cap looked new). I have a MSD Blaster II coil along with a ZX dizzy (81 I believe). I'm having a miss fire under really all conditions and haven't been able to figure out why. I've checked the gap, resistance of wires (and the cap) along with the coil. Is there a way to test the "match box" (black box) on the ZX distributor? Thanks all Jan
