Looking at buying a 71 240z soon. The seller an I have discussed the car and it does not run currently and the issues he has said are: all new electrical system but no power and he has not replaced the fusible link, I think that it may be fried and was wondering if that is the case how hard and how long does it take to replace one? If its quick I may see if I could fix it in his yard and drive it home instead of towing it.

Hey! I'm new here, just wondering if anyone can help? After pumping 89 unleaded fuel and adjust the timing, my car stumble and backfire when i accelerated. Before car was running on 91 premium fuel and it ran fine just a little lag sometime. Modded on car are: 44 mikuni, mild ported head, bigger cams shaft, header, 3 inch straight pipe, electric fuel pump and regulator set at 3.8 to 4 psi. One more thing some how the alternator wouldn't charge the battery so i crank the car multiple times and i could see fuel coming out on one of the mikuni. Any help well be appreciated. :disappoin

been working on a 72 240z twin carbs setup. i had the thing all nice and tuned and the guy decided he needed to take the intake and exhaust off shortly afterwards. while doing that he removed the smog pump, air port (injection??) from the exhaust manifold and replaced it with a header. as well as removing and putting plugs on parts of the intake where hoses no longer went. after about 1/2 hour of me screwing on it i was able to get it to start. but the carbs are wither gone now, or completly out of sync. i cant get the thing over 3500 rpm either. i can start it, and ill rev the motor and it will go right above 6 come down then acts like its either misfiring or hitting …

I'm in the process of rebuilding a 2nd generation 4-speed transmission and I can't seem to get the case apart. All the bolts inside the bell housing and from the center section came off easily as did the pin in the rear section, the speedometer tap and the various plugs. I can't seem to get either the plate inside the bell housing or the case to separate. Am I missing something? Has anyone else had this issue?

Does anyone know where I can get a good set (preferably new) of Door Jamb Switch Seals (Rubber) for a '77 - '78 Z?? Courtesy? Nope. Black Dragon? Nope. Banzai? Nope. I will check with Arizona, but I am really hoping for new. These are hard buggars to find.

Hello all So the lines that go to the tank into the vapor canister (or whatever that is called) in the back of my 280z are all broken in half (literally from age and heat) and leaking all over the place. I took it to my mechanic as, well I don't feel like being covered in fuel in 90 degree weather but they're having a hell of a time trying to get hoses. So does anyone know where to source these hoses or what hoses can be used or what to do? I saw the thread about doing this in a 240 but I'm not sure if that applies to 280s. Thanks Jan

I have a 1972 240z that I rescued right before it went to the junkyard rebuilt the motor cleaned it up and have been driving it for the better part of a year as my dd decided it was time for new brakes and rotors. Bought new rotors and pads and dissasembled everything and found out the calipers have been changed to 4 piston calipers. My question is where do I start looking for the pads that fit? Nothing looks modified so it must be a direct bolt on replacement from something but what? I woulg greatly appreciate any ideas thank you

I have an extra set of front rotors and hub that I have taken the hubs off to put on new drilled rotors. My problem is I'm not sure if the hubs are from a 240 or 280Z since I picked them up at the salvage yard several years ago and I have a 240 as well as a 280Z. I wasn't sure if their was a way to indentify the hubs by the numbers stamped on the hubs/rotors. I just didn't want to get this assembled and find out the hub didn't fit the spindle.
