I have a '77 280Z and am replacing all the rotted/broken/missing vacuum lines, but having some confusion regarding a couple: * vacuum lines (2) on BPT( (backpressure transducer) valve? (one goes to EGR, where does the other go?) vacuum line (2) on THERMAL VACUUM VALVE? (two plastic vacuum lines on end of this were broken off and I don't know where the lines should go) It also seems that I'm missing some "one-way valves" (VDV?) that should be spliced into some of the vacuum lines...how important are these, where can I get them and where are they needed? Thanks for the help. Mark

In the past I’ve never experienced any mechanical issues with this engine, just done regular maintenance, some upgrades. Unfortunately car has not been driven for close to a year. Last time I drove it before it run fine. Couple months ago I finally started it only to find out it was running extremely rough, w lack of power in first couple gears… Today I finally pulled the valve cover off just to find out the rocker slipped of the valve. Then I noticed the two parts floating around… Maybe the pictures will explain better: How would I go about putting everything back? Do I need to be concerned about why this happened ? Any advise would be great, thx in advanc…

I'm suspecting my air flow meter has gone bad. The car is running rich and occasionally stutters at high RPM, generally past 4,000. I've looked at just about everything else that factors into setting the fuel mix but I want confirmation before replacing the AFM because it's not a cheap part and only available on a core-exchange basis from MSA. Is there anyone in Orange County, CA with a healthy AFM that I can borrow and test before I needlessly spend money? I'd reimburse you for gas costs and provide a beer or something

Hi all, I bought a 1975 280Z in January and haven't felt like working on it till now mostly cause it is in good running order. A few months ago after taking it out and coming back i notice a growing pool of coolant underneath the transmission. So the search began, I read the service manual I searched the forums and low and behold I found nothing that was useful. Well I finally used my camera and took a picture of the mystery hose that is pissing away all of the coolant in my car. Can anyone tell me what it is where its coming from and what it should be connected to? Thanks

I will soon be combining a 72 240 (automatic) and a 71 240 stick shift to make one good vehicle. Does anyone know if the automatic is a more rare option, and possible more valuable to go this route. I don't want to sacrafice performance though. Thanks.

I had my dealer-installed early 240z (april, 1970 production date) removed from my car when I had it painted a few years ago. I had the old-style compressor rebuilt in anticipation of returning the system to the car upon completion of the restoration. Subsequently, I decided not to re-install the A/C system and am now planning to sell the parts. My problem is this....I have a condensor, the rebuilt compressor, interior switches, etc. but am not sure if there are any other parts that should be in the system or where they would be located on the car (i.e. evaporator, dryer, hoses, etc.) Can anyone help with a description/diagram of the various A/C components that were orig…

I'm adding a factory AC system to my early 260z and need to drill the holes in the firewall to pass the AC lines thru. I purchased the correct grommet but i don't have another vehicle to reference the hole location. I'm sure i could line up where everything goes and guess but if at possible I want this to look OEM. If any of you have AC and can grab some measurements and a picture for me on the hole locations I would appreciate it.

So, last week I finally got my '72 240Z running after a few years (previous owner says he parked it in 1989) and put a few hundred miles on it over the last week. It ran great with no issues, So, as I've been working on things, I've been collecting parts and the first mod was to be the ZX alternator. I pulled the old reg and alternator, installed the new one, and hooked it up. Except, I hooked it up wrong, undoubtedly partallt due to the previous owner's shenanigans with the cable colors. Anyway, I had the wire that's supposed to go to the BAT terminal on an E terlinal I believe this means Earth - a GROUND! To make things worse, I didn't notice before trying to fire…
