I'm almost 83 years of age and have a 280Z with stopped heater core. Is there any way to get this opened up without removing and replacing it? If not can someone tell me how to accomplish the removal and replacement of it? A friend (Z mechanic) has back flushed it for me but tells me he gets only a trickle of water to pass thru it. He doesn't have the time to do the job as he is still working for Nissan and stays real busy. Thanks. Hisson0712

I'll start off by letting you guys know that I'm new to the forum. I currently have a 2011 370Z and I am currently looking for a 240Z. I've been looking around and have found one locally that doesn't run, but the owner claims it ran when it was parked years ago (one picture shows an inspection sticker from 2002). I have yet to take a look at the car but was wondering what would typically cause this. My ideas are bad gas (assuming it hasn't been started during that time), dead battery, gummed up carbs, or bad contacts on the pickups for the distributor. Anyone else have any suggestions on what to look for if/when I go take a look at this car?

I'm trying to make my first z purchase but don't know if it is too rusted. Take a look at the pics and give me your opinion. It is a 1978 280z with a great interior and complete engine and transmission for $800

Does anyone know where to get the gasket for the timing chain tensioner? I purchased a complete timing kit, but to my surprise there was not one included. I have search many different Z parts sites but still have not had any luck finding one. Would using Form-A-Gasket be an acceptable alternative?

People I want to get my ac working on car again. Lost summer I tried to get it up and running but didn't have much luck, and summer is comming back and I would like to get it up and working, I read several post here and read one that said to buy a drier from autozone part #3318, a high pressure switch part #35758 and a harness connector part # 37219. I called autozone and order all 3 parts, now I just need to order the strainer (orfice)but don't know where to get one. If some one could give me the info I would appreciate it. Thanks

I have an annoying buzz in the rear end. I have changed all the U joints, using AC delco made in the USA joints, changed all of the rubber suspension components, greased the half shafts, dissasembled the rear hubs and greased the bearings and everything else I can think of. At 65 or so, I get a buzz that shakes the mirrors, shakes my butt in the seat, etc This is high freq. I got under the rear of the car today and put a dial indicator on the half shafts and found that there was .006 on both at the differential end, and almost nothing at the hub end. then I happened to deflect the center of the shaft with the indicator on it, the damn thing bends in the middle about .00…

Hello people, So I managed to lock my glovebox with my ignition key, even though it was a different lock, I didn't realize it until I tried to unlock it, and now my glovebox won't open. I need to get it open because like most people that's where I keep my insurance & registration, and I'm really considering going at it with a drill bit right now because of my frustration:stupid:. If there's any way for me to get around that though, I would be obliged if someone could show me a way. Much thanks in advance.

I've been searching around the forum most of today trying to find something similar to the situation I have on my '78 280Z. All of the parking lights work and the lo-beam headlights work. When I turn on the hazard lights, only the driver side front and rear light blink plus the left arrow on the tach - the passenger side lights are dark as is the right arrow on the tach. Neither the left or right turn signal function. All of this used to work not that long ago. Any thoughts on why hi-beams are out and why the hazard and turn signals are malfunctioning? I just yanked the center console out and checked the Hazard Switch and it seems in good working order. I replaced …

I have read many posts and have a lot of success with my 1973 240Z, until now. I consider myself to be a pretty good mechanic and did all of the work on my car myself (with a little help from the body guru Randy), but to the problem at hand... The car sat for 15 years before I got to it, and I did a fairly extensive freshening up on it. I did the carbs (flat tops), re & re on the engine, high lift cam, ported head (N42). The ign is original points, but received all new parts. Then all the new metal. The car worked great for 2.5 months then one day a problem arose. I drove the car to work in the morning, but when I went for lunch I started the car and let it idle for a…

I'm a new owner of a '71 240Z; I've posted on here a couple of times. While the car was in the process of restoration by the previous owner there were periods of long sitting and I am getting everything up to snuff. To help others help me here's what I've done so far: - Rebuilt transmission with new gaskets, bearings, synchronizer rings, and oil seals. Temporarily refilled with synthetic 75W-90 GL-5 (ouch; I know now), now has Red Line MT90. - Replaced clutch friction disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and slave cylinder - Replaced distributor cap, rotor, O-ring, breaker points, condenser, and ignition coil with OEM-spec Beck Arnley parts - Replaced plugs and wires w…

I pulled an inoperative C/D player out of the dash and I am attempting to install an OEM radio (removed from my 1st 72 about 1990). I can't seem to seat the radio in the metal bracket because the wiring harness for the fuse panel and another harness for other accessories gets stuffed behind the radio. Does the harness get routed outside and to the right of the radio bracket? I've tried that and can't get enough room to plug in the radio harness. At the moment, I am clueless.
