At one point I had my "Z" lowered and the rear strut holes were "notched" to adjust rear camber. The result is the plastice caps do not line up properly. I'm having the iinterior redone and I'm wondering if a later model "Z" cover can be adapted to cover the tops of my towers. The interior guy is really good & will use velcro to hold them in place but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this. Thanks in advance for any info. Frank.

I'm trying to put the fram filter between the fuel tank and the pump, however the hose that goes to the pump it is not a 3/8 as everybody is saying it seems to be a 1/2 , attached is a picture of the fuel tank nipple, I do not know if the owner before me tried to "reinvent" the way the fuel flow goes ,due to the fact that he replace the OEM fuel pump and removed the damper ,any thoughts?

This has happened at 50 MPH and when slowing down at a redlight. The tach goes crazy and then the car quits. If the car is moving, it restarts itself.... when I slow down for a redlight and it quits, I am able to restart the car and continue on. I have been told this means the Ignition Module is dying. Do ya'll agree? If so where can I get an Ignition Module for a 1977 280Z Coupe, base model. Thanks for any help Tommy 678-763-6939 jthill3@att.net

I let my car set for a couple of weeks with just a little gas in the tank. Long story short. I went to start her up and no go at at all. Plenty of spark so I am looking at a fuel issue. The fuel filter had gas in it so I figured it was plugged. It needed to be replaced so I did. No gas came up into the new filter. The original fuel pump ( from 1972) is still on the car so I figured the fuel pump was bad. I replaced it and still no gas to the filter. I am getting upset now. So I pulled the hose off the intake side of the pump and using a little funnel poured gas and had my wife crank the car over. It worked and the car fired right up.So now I am thinking maybe I have an ob…

Hi all, I have a '72 240Z with the original SU carbs and Pertronix ignition. Car is freshly tuned with valves adjusted, new plugs, cap, rotor, and carbs adjusted. Idles great and drives around town and on the freeway fine. However, when I rapidly accelerate the car begins to hesitate at about 4500 RPM. It did this before the tune-up also if memory serves correct (the tune-up was probably six months or more ago. I don't drive the car daily). Any ideas? My thoughts are maybe my A/F ratio isn't quite right or I need to go to a different viscosity SU oil which is currently 20 weight. Revving the engine while the car is not in motion does not seem to illicit the hes…

I am trying to restore my 77 280z and it needs a new radiator support. I am at a dead end because I am struggling to find one. Does anybody here in the forum have one that they can sell or does anyone know a site that would sell them?

Hey so ive got a 73 240 with the 72 SU's with the emissions removed vac lines on carbs capped. only engine mods besides carbs is 79 electronic distributor, and electronic fuel pump. Well when I start the car it idles around 800 but after about ten minutes of driving the idle works itself to 1500 and doesn't come down from that. A friend told me it was was probably a vacuum leak because sometimes wen i turn the car off the engine runs for a second, and my heater vents blow cold air and defrost blows warm, and you can kinda hear a hiss from the engine when i turn it off that i cant find anywhere.... so I unplugged and capped the distributor advance and the brake booster but…

So I jacked up my Z on the drivers side the other day to inspect the tie rod boot (which turned out to be fine) in attempt to diagnose some high speed steering wheel shimmy. After setting the car down and jumping in I immediately noticed the steering wheel was off to one side. Upon driving I found there to be almost no steering recoil after making a turn. I turn the wheel, let go, and it stays in that position without returning to center. After some research I found this to be a common symptom of bad/worn lower ball joints - so I replaced them with MSA pieces. Unfortunately the new ball joints did not solve the problem. My next step is to look at the tie rods or rack bush…
