Hi, I wanted to clean my engine and the compartment yesterday. I picked up some spray from AutoZone, and was careful to cover and tape the coil (pulled the main wire to make it easier), the battery, and the distributor. I sprayed, let it sit, scrubbed a bit, and rinsed. I used a towel to wipe down, and then removed the tape and coverings. The engines started fine, idled fine, and I thought I was on my way. I took off down the street, but as soon as I got to 2,700 rpm’s the fuel seemed to simply shut off. It didn’t die, but picked back up around 2,200 rpm’s. I limped back home and found that some water got into the fuel injector clips. I took each one off and cleaned…

I just purchased a 1971 240Z. Since I'm a brand-new owner I don't know many specifics about this particular car. The previous owner alluded that it had sat for some time, but every time I went to view and inspect the car he was able to start it. He told me there was an issue with 3rd gear, so I'm rebuilding the transmission and while I'm in there I'm replacing the clutch disc and pressure plate. However, I've been unable to get the car to run for any extended period of time. He delivered the car to me by trailer at my house, so I haven't actually driven it. When he dropped it off the battery was dead; I was told the lights had been left on. When I hook it up with jumper …

I hope someone can help a little here. 1976 stock 280z backfire in intake when accelerating Not too bad but still it does it . I did all the FI tests timing is at reccomended 8 deg btdc at 800 rpm, checked for vac leaks, fuel press at constant 32 spikes briefly when reved to 40 and holds 30 for a while after shut off and return line puts out about 3 liters a minute while running. I do believe that it backfired more than usual while I had the return line running into the container. It has new wires and plugs. I did have the injectors and fuel rail out, while it was out I pressurized the rail untill the injector cleaner came out of the return line and I ran the injector cle…

A new coil was recently installed, and it is too small even if the clip is fully closed. I put two hardwood pieces that I painted yellow in for spacers. Would this work for now as I get other issues dealt with? Also, I am not sure what this wire is for… any comments or help would be great. BaTora

I have a 77 280z and Ive noticed that if Im cruising anywhere from 50 to 75mph the car Lags or acts like its trying to stall. The car never dies, When it does this the Tach and Speedometer dont show any changes at all, but I can feel it. Kinda like if you were to lightly pressing on and off the gas. Any ideas for me to start looking when it warms up? A Pic of my beauty:

So I found this 260z on CL for sale. It was hit on the driver side fender and the left back QP is wavey (sort of)...some kid hit him. He has a replacement fender for the driver side. It has 15k miles on the odo, said it rolls over every 100k miles. It's unfortunately auto but IDC! Everything is clean and I am going to get it checked out by a shop: compression test; rust; frame; etc... I need help! My dad *still live at home* is telling me I should bail on it. What do you guys think?! (if everything checks out ok):paranoid::paranoid::paranoid:

Hello all Last night I'm cruising down the road at a nice 40mph stretch of road. Since no one is around (and it's rather late) I step on it a bit and let the motor breath. Long and behold I hit a pothole at about 50. Wasn't a deep one, just a nice "bump" in the road. Well sure enough the fuel light comes one, nice bright RED light at night was just lovely. Fuel gauge says half full but for insurance I stop and fill up. 8.45 gallons go in (roughly half a tank). Turn the car back on light is still on. So question of the day, how exactly does the light work, is it a grounding circuit like on old fords or is it a wire lead with voltage like a few others? I haven't been under …
