There's a 280z 2+2 over at my local junkyard and it has nice black seats in great condition, and they're only $25 each. I'm wondering if they'll bolt right up inside my coupe without issues.

I'm currently diagnosing my 1977 280Z. In the "ACC" position, I have dash lights and a few relay clicks. In the "ON" position, I have no dash lights. no activity change. In the "START" position, the engine cranks over, but does not start. I've removed the fuel lines and I have no fuel pump actions during the starting position. No fuel pump action period... Here is a link to the manual that I'm currently using so that we can be on the same page: http://www.4moores.com/280z/files/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf On page 33 it tells me if the relay clicks (which it does) that I should go to page 62, then page 61. So on page 62 and 61: I have full source voltage at pin 1 while in …

I have a 1976 280z that I'm rebuilding, and I got the Beck/Arnley 023-1142 outer valve springs for it, only to find that they're way too big! The internet has told me on several sites that they should fit; why don't they?! I have the L28 engine, base model; are the spring different for the 2+2?? Thanks!!

Here's my problem: My stock 1972 240z runs great. It has plenty of power, idles very smooth, takes the gas well and overall performs great. However, if it sits for a couple of days, it is very hard to start. The choke works fine, it has a recent tune-up and everything seems to be working well. But after a couple of days sitting, it has to crank and crank for a long time before it will start, (several seconds, maybe a minute). It seems almost like it's not getting gas. Once it starts, it runs perfectly. As soon as it runs long enugh to let the chock off,...you can turn it off and it fires up on first turn for the rest of the day. Any ideas?

77z I put it back on the road after 10 yrs. it was runnig good but found it was running very rich and was only getting 14 MPG. everthing else was good. change the water temp sensor because i believed it was not allowing engine to lean out after warm up. the engine starts great and I had to reset the idle down. it revs fine but as soon as i put a load on it it pops and bucks. I replace the plugs and checked the timming. I can not put the old one back in because it broke. I hope somebody has an idea. joe D

Hey guys, I'm brand new here and have only had my z about two weeks! A few days ago I was stopping at a stop sign and the brakes felt weird. I barely stopped, but heard air coming out when I hit the brakes. I parked my car and realized the RPMs were going up as I pressed the brakes. I couldn't drive home because the car would barely stop. Any help would be very much appreciated! I'm new to cars, but I have some knowledge. Vacuum leak? HELP

I am new to Datsun, I always wanted a Z and stumbled into a 1972 240z about a week ago. The car ran when I bought it, run being a overstatement. Now it will not start, it sputters, nothing more. I have gone through the round tops and adjusted the floats, that seemed to help it run and start a little better when it still ran. I set the timing to 5 below like the haynes said, that helped it start better when it did, and finally I put a little marvel oil down the cylinders to even out some compression numbers that I had. these are cold numbers at 6000 above sea level; 1.) 120 2.)120 3.)95 4.)100 5.)120 6.)105 After sitting for a day my new numbers are; 1.)125 2.)120 3.)4…

The tach in my 73 was dead. Found another 3 wire tach but the housing has a bracket spot welded to it. My old one has 2 studs on the back and was held in place with wing nuts. I want to remove the guts and swap housings. I removed all the nuts and screws and it won't come apart. I haven't applied brute strength yet for fear of breaking something. Anyone take a tach apart?

Howdy, I disconnected my vacuum lines to my egr valve also some lines going to my heater control valve, my question is do I need to plug up these vacuum lines, or just leave them? On a separate note I installed an aftermarket sensor that shows me the temperature of my coolant, it stayed at 190 pretty good while by stock engine temp gauge seemed to rise much higher than 190, and was fairly inconsistent, any thoughts? 1978 280z Thanks a lot.
