Hey everyone I have a 260z and the gas tank leaks if I fill it up past half tank. I changed the sending unit and I changed the oring and lock twice but it still leaks! I watched it leak from the unit so I know for a fact It comes from there. Also I capped off all the unnecessary vents. So my question is WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH MY TANK?? And if i do infact need a new tank where might I find one for cheap preferably used as I dont have much cash like the typical college student. anyways HELP PLEASE!

My fule gauge was working and then just stopped. I pulled the sender and It tested of 13 to 79 ohms. checked the fuse and it is ok, so anybody have any thoughts on what to check next. oh yea all the rest of the gauges or ok. Joe

Recently I swapped motors in my 240z. Long and short of it is I cant get spark from the l28's distributor but when I stick my 240z's pertronix equipped distributor on the car sparks and runs. I know the l28 ran in the car we pulled it from but for whatever reason it didnt want to spark at all in my car. We changed nothing but the distributors/brackets between the pair of motors. Is there going to be an issue running this distributor on the car?

I'm new to 280z car. I love z car. I had 1978 280z strip down. Now i need to order a front bumper (air dam) for my 280z. I like to get the one with the front bumper (air dam) with the chrome across. I found one on the z store but i think it look different. Z owner please tell me where to order I will be very appreciate. Thank you

My 78 280Z went into cruise control mode on the interstate this morning, throttle stayed open with foot off the gas. When I got home I found a spring that had rusted and broken in half. I am going to call this the throttle return spring. It is about three inches long and is a coil spring with a short loop on the bottom and a longer one on the top. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement spring? Is the design of this spring important, or will anything that returns the throttle back to idle be adequate? Thanks.

I need some suggestions of what to try next on my 74 260Z that starts fine but has little to NO power on the road. I have working on fixing the issue for 10 solid days and have ran out of ideas. Quick history - I finished restoring and finally started the car on Dec 14. The first drive was 12/23/11 and she did great. Drove her almost 400 miles over a few days without incident. Plenty of power and fun as hell to drive. Only twice in the first week did she kinda studder on take-off. Didn't think much of it until on New Year's day she almost stranded us 30 miles from home. I replaced my oil pressure sender on my 77 280 and it now seems to read backwards. Is this the aftermarket sender. I replaced it with another, also aftermarket, with the same result. Is this a problem with aftermarket senders?

Hello, so I started stripping the interior of my '76 280z project toady and found that the floor pans on both sides are quite rusty including small holes on both sides. The back seems fine, the rust starts just behind the seats and goes foreward...I haven't gotten through the insulation on the center section yet, though I suspect it is also rusted. Also needs new frame rails. What would be the best/most cost effective way to repair this? How much would new pans be? Can I get used floor pans or make my own, or do they have to be new? (ALSO how do I get the dang steering wheel off?! xD) Thanks for any help!!! --Rachel

Hey everybody, so recently my 240 will shut off instantly when I turn on the lights and the battery is disconnected. They work with the battery connected but since they are running off the battery it sucks it dry. It just started doing this recently. I took the alternator to autozone its good. Battery reading 14 volts with car on. Other recent quirks, liscense plate lights come on with brake lights, and blinkers not working with lights on. Any ideas?

I started my car up today after fixing a leaking vacuum hose and when I started the car(cold), it ran perfect, no misses and it purred exactly like it should, but after it started warming up, it started getting off beat again. Could this be my valves? I'm adjusting them tomorrow because they're off by about 0.05 to 0.15 across all 12 of them. My assumption was that when the valves heated up the clearance got worse so that's what's causing the exhaust to be offbeat. Or could it be a vacuum problem? but wouldn't a vacuum problem stay the same no matter hot or cold? what other ideas could it be?
