Okay so I have a 74 260z that im looking to get as much torque and acceleration as I can. I have the basic 2.6 with dual webers on it with headers and all the emission junk removed. Ive replaced the starter, water pump, radiator fan clutch, upgraded the 4 speed to a 5 speed tranny replaced the brake booster, master cylinder, the clutch master and slave cylinder. What I have left to do is get the alternator rebuilt or replaced, replace the coil, get the headlight harness Dave makes, and replace the gas cap (the one I have doesn't seal and when i take left turns with a full tank of gas i loss my fuel) also I kinda want to upgrade to a stage 2 cam and redo the differential …

Hey all, I have a 1978 280z and am trying to install a fan regulator. One of the wires has a large metal "screw" (I'm not a 100% sure what it's called, but it looks like the things that "plug" up the Low and High pressure ports on the A/C compressor.) The "screw" says to attach it to the A/C Clutch, where do I find that? I'm pretty sure that is my A/C compressor, and it has to either go in one of those two ports? I've seen a few schematics online and anything referring to the word "clutch" is shown to be at the front of the A/C Compressor. Figured I ask, before I start fiddling with it. Thanks!

I have search the forums and have found a couple websites that will get the conversion half way. My problem is that I am running an Automatic trans and am trying to convert to a 12-80 ignition module. This is how I have the wires connect so far after looking at the websites and the shop manual. The Red/Blue wire to Negative Coil The Ignition Module Negative to the Negative Coil Connect the Green White Wire and the Black White Wire that ran to the Ballast The Blue Wire to the Positive Coil The Ignition Module Positve to the Positive Coil The Black/White Wite to the Positive Coil That leaves me with a unconnected solid black wire. Where does it go? Are there any errors…

Is there a filtering screen anywhere in the fuel line between the fuel pump and the gas tank on a '77 280Z? I have an original 1977 manual for this car and it doesn't show enough detail to answer this question. Also, I removed the fuel pump and contrary to at least one of the posts on this site, there is no screen in the intake of the pump. I've owned this car since 1980 when it had 26K miles (used from one owner). It ran great for years. Now, it has about 60K (original) miles and because I let it sit for months at a time things have begun to deteriorate. I've begun replacing hoses, gaskets, belts, etc., including all the fuel line hoses and fuel filter, but a performanc…

I'm aware that the order of the wires on the distributor is (counter clockwise) 1,5,3,6,2,4. However, when connecting those wires to the spark plugs does #1 start at the front of the engine? I'm sure it does, but do I follow the sequence 2,3,4,5,6 consecutively in that order when connecting the wires with the plugs? Or is the sequence not so straight forward on the cylinders? My engine is misfiring after I disconnected the the wires to replace my valve cover gasket. Thanks!

I tried the "peel and seal" aluminum tape with asphalt roofing product to reduce noise in my S2000 trunk. It was easy to install and worked great at reducing noise but the tar-like smell still persists. I regret doing it however I will not peel it off as it will exposed more stinky stuff. The smell has decreased but not as fast as some have claimed and not as much as some have claimed. I will give it a year and see what happens. However, as it dampens great, I want to use it to dampen the panels on my 71 240z resto. I am thinking that I may be able to paint some substance over (like Nissan did on the floor pan asphalt) it to effectively seal the smell in. Any recommen…

I am in desperate need of one. Two of the wheel stud holes are absolutely smooth, and therefore, won't hold a stud. Calling the salvage yards around is yielding no results. I'm in Costa Mesa, CA. If anyone locally has one, I got about $50 I can spend on one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am refreshing some carbs and the kit has a mystery washer that I can't figure out where it goes? It is the single aluminum washer in this photo at the bottom.

:mad:There are times when our 260Z starts right up like she is fuel injected and times when you turn the key and the solenoid clicks and nothing else. I also hear a click at times from a relay on the right front kick panel. I have a reman Hitachi starter and a new switch at the rear of the key cylinder. Any ideas what could be causing this? I have the shop manual and the only thing that looks like it is a interlock device and we have a 4 speed.

Well, i was going to get these resurfaced for my new camshaft, ISKY has already ground it and after speaking with ron he instructed me that 175 lash pads will fit However i just grabbed my old rockers about to take them to the machine shop for resurfacing and saw this... were they touch the lash pads they are all different heights. oddly, all of my lash pads are within 1-3 thousandths of each other, yet the rocker arms are 20+ ?! so what are my choices now? 1) Buy new rocker arms 2) Get each lash pad machined separately to fit
