Like the title says my 1978 280z will not turn over. I am pretty new to working on the z...when I used it I never had to. It's been a great little car. It's been sitting for about 6 years. Started off with not passing emissions because of old fuel in the tank. I know stupid I should have drained the tank then....I got it started up a year ago after blowing out the fuel lines, putting in a new fuel pump (added a filter between the tank and the fuel pump). I also put in a used Air Intake module (tested good yesterday). Dad got sick and the car sat. Fast forward a year. I drained the fuel again and the radiator. The compression and spark was good but there was not enough fu…

1978 280z acquired 3 months ago; on my list of to-do's is change the fuel filters. First time doing on my own. How do I relieve fuel and pressure that is already in the lines, etc. Don't want to disconnect something and have fuel all over the place. Suggestions? Things to watch out for? Thanks!

1978 280z; having problem with engine starts to run rough and then shutting down after driving 20-30 mins. Leave it for a while to cool down and can get it started again. - put on new set of wires - new dizzy rotor - new dizzy cap - plugs were recently replaced by PO (I have car 2 months), but will be replacing those tomorrow - getting good spark from ignition coil itself Thoughts? Is this more symptom of fuel injectors than electrical? Thanks.

Hey everybody i own a 1978 280z and its in very good condition but the frame rails aren't so nice. I bought the bagdog replacements and im having trouble finding someone who will do the job. Has anybody in the miami FL area able to do this or know of a reliable person? This is kind of an emergency because i've been looking for weeks for someone who knows what they are doing and i've stopped driving the car in fear of bending the chassis. If anyone could point me in the right direction i'd appreciate it. (sorry if this is in wrong forum) Thanks, sam

I was changing out the starter and like a DA reversed the + and soleinoid connections. After realizing my mistake, and a few cranking moments later, I reversed the connections. Now I have no electrical power to the car? I changed out the ignition switch, fusilbe links are still good, battery is good. Its like there is a master fuse link blown somewhere in the vehicle but I can't find it? I have power to the connection side of the switch but nothing after that. its like the entire car is dead? Any thoughts

Since it's summer and I am out of school for 2 months, I've decided to give some needed attention to the 1973 240z. As stated in the title, it hasn't been started for a little less than a year. I've been trying to research what to do before I try starting it and I've come across this thread. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?22619-Waking-the-sleeping-beast I was just wondering if you guys have any more suggestions? I really want to get everything right before I get started.

Long story short I was replacing my radio and everything was working, suddenly, while screwing the center console back in, the radio turned off and the dashboard lights ceased to work. Any ideas? I'm fairly certain its not a fuse, I've checked the fusebox and the fuse in the radio, I'm thinking something got undone. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
