I need my horn working in order to get trough inspection wich is in this week. Connectors in front are ok and horns itself are also in mint condition. They worked few months ago but now nothing. Could the problem be in the steering wheel wires? I've recently changed new ignition key but i put all the wires back as they were. What particular wire is for the horn? also horn cap is brand new so that can be overruled. Cheerz

Searched the treads and didn't come up with anything too promising, so I hope I'm not asking something that's been covered a lot. Anyhow, parked my fairly stock '73 in the garage about 3 months ago - it had been running fine. Like an idiot, I was didn't disconnect the battery cables and the battery went dead. Went to get her running and charged up the battery plenty, but she just cranks; doesn't try to start at all. I'm thinking maybe the ignition coil is shot? Does anyone have any suggestions of what else I might consider, particularly things that would be a no-brainer? Thanks -

Trying to bring a 79 back to life. Had to re attach the fusible link wires. Now when I hit the starter the condenser wire smokes and also the ignition power jumper wire in the fusible link.

Just bought a 1988 300. Day after I brought it home none of the gauges work. No speedometer,odometer not even the trip meter will work! Any ideas?

Hey guys I've been on here before but I finaly have some cash and some time to work on my 78 280Z! Only thing is I need some help. I've bought the repair manual and I'm ready to roll my sleeves up and take a good look at this car and I could really use some help! I'll be honest this is going to be a learning experience for me as the most I've ever done to a car is change an oil filter and maybe some brake pads here and there. I need someone who knows Z's to help me appraise the damages. Give me an idea of what kind of repairs I'm going to need to do to get it running as a daily driver. have a 1977 280z just rebuilt the motor and trying to get things set right. wanted to know if I need to short something out to get the base timing? Also get it running good and the idle were we want it and then I turn it off and restart it my idle jumps to 1500 to 2000 once or twice if I bump the gas hard the idle goes to where we want it. just hoping someone might be able to point me in the right way to solve it

I purchased a 1976 Datsun 280z in mid summer that had been sitting for 3 years. I flushed out all the old gas, flushed out the radiator, bought a new battery, put new gas, put injectors from my previous running 1978 280z [RIP :tapemouth] and she finally had fired up. So i try taking her for a spin and she starts choking on me. I look at all the tubing and notice some are a little old so I have them replaced. I fired her up and still would choke. After about a week I have it towed to Mike's Z Shop in Whittier, Ca. They work on it for 2 weeks and get it to run better but it STILL chokes. They put new spark plugs and a different airflow meter. I need an answer to my problem? first the problem, I sold a differential from a 1972 240z with automatic trans under the impression it was an r180 for 80 bucks delivered to milwaukee 40 miles from my house fair price right?his buddy met me to pick it up there,now hes telling me that it is a r160 diff and wants money back because according to him they are worth far less than 80? does a r160 even fit in a 240z with automatic? it was from a parts car but i cant see why the p.o. would have used this if possible the diff looked like a r180 wish I took pics of it Thanks all

Took the Z out today,Started right up,let it warm up pulled it it out heard a noise and then it was gone,Went to fill up on gas turn the blinkers on and radio stated turning on and of,Blinker and radio do not work now.Parked the car for work and now the battery is dead.any idea's what happened...Thanks
