I posted a thread here regarding this, and one of the members thought I might be able to get some better answers here. I won't make you all read that 5 page long thread, so here is the gist of the issue. After buying the car and driving it daily 60 miles roundtrip to work for about 2 months, it suddenly started dying without warning. Sometimes it will restart immediately, sometimes I have to wait an hour, or overnight. Most recently, for example, I drove it on Saturday all over the place for about 1/2 hour. I started and stopped it multiple times, got gas, etc. and it was perfectly fine. The next day i went to drive it to a local car show and I made it about 500 feet befo…

I usually don't drive my z for long drives, but today was a nice warm day.I drove from Los Angeles to San Fernando valley and back with no resting time in between. On the way back I caught traffic, in total about 1 1/2 hours of driving at about 90 degree weather.when I got home I parked the and turned off the car. Once I got off I heard a sizzeling sound and noticed coolent coming out of the front bumper.the coolent was coming out of the resivour, I waited till it cooled down and checked the water. The radiator was a little low from all the coolent that rushed into the resivour.how can I tell if it's the thermostat, head gasket, water pump and why did it overheat.

Hello I am new to the forum but could really use some help...I bought the car I had and loved as a kid that I missed for the last 30 years. After 10 years of searching I found a 77 280z that needed quite a bit of love....8 months later I want to get it inspected and make it legal. In Texas I have to have High Beams and mine don't work. Is there a relay? Can't seem to find much out from Haynes book. The turn signal switch would not stay in the "right turn" position (another Texas DPS requirement) after taking it apart I removed the spring and it works fine. The high beam switch is sealed and I doubt I can find one at Auto Zone. I have replaced the lamps and if there …

Hello everyone, It's been awhile since I've posted. I parked the 73 240z with 2 year old rebuilt ztherapy carbs about 2.5 months ago. Its been hot, I've been busy. I started it a few weeks ago and let it run for awhile. I have been putting off driving it untill I change the oil. I just tried to start it to change the oil. It wouldn't start. I have gas up to the top of carbs. It will start for a second using starter fluid. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanx in advance for any replies. obx

The last couple of days I have been having problems with my turn signals not functioning properly. Usually the left signal would work and the right front would not. I took it upon my self to refresh the switch the usual way by opening it up and cleaning the ball, spring, and contacts. I have probaly opened this switch up four or five times as the repair doesnt seem to stay working for too long and now the tabs have broken off. So I just replaced them with plastic clips held down by the screws on the side of the case. However, that isn't the problem I have now. Whenever I turn on my left turn signal it causes the ignition to cut out in time with the blinker. The AMP mete…

Why not here. I rebuilt my Weber DCOE40 18 carbs. One of them leaks fuel out the horns, mostly the right barrel. All the obvious possibilities have been checked. No, the intake valves aren't sticking. Yes, the floats are adjusted and are functioning. The needle valve is fine. The venturi's are snug and secure. I've asked and searched at HZ and tried google and sent emails to Weber shops and tech forums.

Hi Z guys, I am friends with 2 guys trying to get a 76 280 out of mothballs. One guy's wife owns the car which sat indoors for about 6 years and was not touched. The other guy is a professional mechanic. Car is in good shape and she has had it since it was new. Fluids were drained and refilled, valve cover removed top end and timing chain lubricated, fuel lines cleaned, new fuel pump and filter, fresh gas. Engine would turn over, but not start, injectors tested found to be bad, new injectors installed, ECU and MAS tested and found to be good. Engine started ran pretty good, slight miss/hesitation at part throttle. Ran engine about an hour, shut off, changed oil and f…
