Well I finally got the carbs synched and running great- the car just died on me! Info on the car: L24 Tripple Weber 45 DCOE - 36mm chockes - 145 mains - 195 air Mallory Unilite/ pro master Electric Fuel Pump FPR set at 3.5 psi ____________________________ I was driving and the car just died. I pulled over and tried cranking it. It turned over and didn't sound like any battery problems. I gassed it and then it would rev up really quickly and then die. I could not get it to idle at all- just rev and then die. I checked the fuel pressure and it read 3-4 psi. I disconnected the hose after the electric fuel pump to make sure fuel was coming out while cranking it and it did jus…

I'm a new member and new to Z cars. I've recently come into a '73 240z and I'm getting no spark. I've replaced the battery, battery cables, coil, resistor, condenser, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, and points. Still nothing. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, over the past few weeks my car has been running progressively worse. I just replaced the spark plugs with new NGK BP6ES plugs and it took away the problems I was having in 1st and 2nd gear (at 5k rpms it would hit almost like a rev limiter, but keep revving sporadically). It was doing this before, but it seems like in 3rd gear or higher it get this violent loss of power and the tach jumps all around. It kind of surges, as if you let off the gas and stomped on it again over and over until you shift or slow down. I think the timing is set around 15 degrees and I am running the pertronix unit and their coil. This isn't something that has been happening for a lo…

Wondering if the early 71's had retracting seat belts or were they more like the 1600/2000 roadsters belts. Thanks....Mark

I'm sure this has been asked before but. One of the many rubber lines on the fuel rail has developed a very slow leak on my 280z. (76'). Is there any tricks or hints you guys can give me on replacing them. Is it just basically take out and put in or is there something special I should do. Thank Jan

Was doing some work on my car last night - Changed rear brakes + installed a new Steering Wheel. All was fine but now: My little light in the engine bay is stuck on! Yes it worked before and I could click it on and off. But now its just stuck on? Only way for me to turn it off is to unscrew the light. Any ideas? All comments are welcome.

As stated in my previous posts, I am just undertaking the task of rebuilding a 71 240. The rear hatch that I have has a few areas of rust, especially around the lower corners of the glass. I plan to remove the glass and do any repair work possible. Unfortunately, I think it may be beyond repair. I have searched all the classifieds, ebay, MSA, Black Dragon, and local junk yards and have yet to find any rear hatch's. Does anyone out there have any advise as to locating such a part? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Im going to look at a couple 280z's over the next week, and id like to know where i should look to determine if the cars are too far gone due to rust. Keep in mind, i wont have any way to jack these vehicles up into the air. Hopefully i can raise the carpet to check floor boards. I know there are some signature spots within these z's that rust out and are a pain to fix. Unfortunately im new to the z world, so i need advice. Thank you. Scott

I have a 1978 280Z into which I recently swapped a rebuilt L28 engine. It took me over a month to get the car started, and to be honest I'm not sure how I fixed it. One day I walked into the garage, turned the key, and it fired right up. The trouble is, the car won't start or run with the fuel injectors plugged in. I had replaced the injectors not long before replacing the engine, so I'm fairly certain they didn't all get stuck open at the same time. Currently, the car starts with the injectors unplugged and the cold start valve plugged in. If I plug in the injectors or unplug the cold start, the car will not start. The idle is a bit high right now and the engine does no…
