so i currently own a cgm 07 sti. i have always wanted a 240z (just like how they look)ok so i got a 72' 240z. i origionally wanted to swap in a ls1 engine or a sr20det. which one would be the easiest/better? and where can i buy the mounts and all that good stuff?

Hey guys. I've been driving my car pretty much non stop for about a month now. I drive at least two miles a day minimum. Noticed a few things that I hope you can help me with. When I back out my car from the parking spot I have a clunking noise coming from the front end. It pretty much lines up with the speed of a wheel turning. When I come to a stop the noise goes away. Secondly when I move forward I have a rattle noise coming from the front end of the car. Again the noise tends to line up with the speed of the wheels. Anyone have an idea. Could it be the brakes? Bearings? The tie rod on the car is pretty much gone, as the passenger side tire moves about an inch or so …

I just had a new clutch put in and it works fine, put when the car is idling at a stop, there is a rattling noise. If I push in the clutch, the noise goes away. What could be the problem I am hearing?

I have searched but haven't found the specific info I'm looking for. My question is I have an 83zx with a trans going bad. I have an 83zxt that is sitting in my back yard. I got my local mechanic to take the zxt trans off along with the 280zx trans. He's found a couple of differences but mainly the oil line holes on the zx are not on the zxt. My question is do i have to modify the zxt trans or can I just have him install it the way it is. What about the electrical connections on it? any advise would be welcomed and appreciated. I forgot to mentioned they are both automatics.

hi, any one parting a 280z. I need the plug in harness or pigtail that goes into the ignition switch. prior owner of the z am workingon cut the cables and now the plug in harness is bad. if you have the plug in harness to the back of the ignition switch pls contact me. thanks 76 280z

I have searched and havent found anything I need to know where to get new fuel hosing all of mine is rotted and brittle. Please post a link of a supplier that would carry all the fuel hose I would need for my 74 260. Thanks Jonathan

I don't really know where to start looking here...the victim is a 1975 280Z. I started the car this evening, cranked right over and sounded strong, then died within 30 seconds. I started it again and it would crank over, then die, or hold for a few seconds, do a funny idle wandering thing then settle and then choke. Managed to drive it around the neighborhood, but it would still choke and die. Don't really know if it's something electrical or fuel related. If it's relevant, I just recently purchased the car, with a known issue with the ignition...when I turn the key to the off position, the car won't die and needs a diode wired into the line off the alternator. Hello, I am wrapping up this conversion and had a few questions: 1) I am using the 260Z Manifolds and I know I can keep the coolant lines as is, however when replacing the Balance Tube what do I do with those coolant lines? There were several I had to remove and there is no place for them on the 240Z Balance Tube. 2) What are the differences in the spacers between the 260Z and 240Z? I know either ones will work, but will I feel a difference if I use one vs the other? The ones I have are factory 260Z Spacers and about 1/4" thick. 3) The 260Z Throttle Linkage is adjustable. Do I need to replace the entire linkage? Part of it? Can I use the 260Z linkage? 4) I'm assuming t…

So I have been googleing and searching around multiple forums and I have yet to actually find a response to my query. I recently installed a GM HEI module with an MSD Blaster II coil hooked up to a 280z distributor into my l24 with triple webers. When I had SUs and points the tach would work its way up to 6-7k rpm with no issues, but now that the GM HEI unit is in there the tach doesn't like to go past 5k. The engine sound does change, and the engine keeps pulling all the way through the apparent power band, but the Tach does not show a change past 5k. Is this normal? Do I need to add a diode/resistor somewhere. Other than not having the visual reference, it doesn't see…

hey all i have a 77 280z and my heater quit working. it almost like the selctor isnt moving from ac to heat. there is coolant flowing through the heater core but no heat any advice? i dont know much about these cars so i dont want to tear into the dash without some kind of prior knowledge. any help would be appreciated thanks.
