!!HELP!! It runs for 30 secons and dies !!! HELP !!!! could anybody answer this one ,,, engine starts and it runs for about 20 - 30 seconds and than dies slowly ,,, I got new spark plugs ,cables ,air filter ,fuel pump ,fuel filter, new gas in tank ,,,, if i hold engine on 3000 RPM its working fine and than dies, any suggestions !!!! i ordered fuel pressure regulator I been told it might be that ,,,any suggestion ?

I went to start my car and it backfired slighly and now it just turns over and doesnt start at all. I pulled a plug out and im getting spark, and the plug had a little gas on it so im sure im getting fuel. I pulled the valve cover off and the timing chain is on and looks fine, cam is spinning. Is there a sensor or possibly pcv valve (i CANT FIND THE PCV VALVE to replace it, I bought one a year ago)giving me a problem?My car just turns over and doesnt fire at all.Any ideas pease reply,thanx

hello z fourm, i am posting because I need help in pointing me to the right direction in doing a valves & lifters job on my 77 280z. I need to do this because first off my z wont run, it cranks and bumbles a bit but will not stay running, so I pulled off the valve cover to find that i am able to move the arms from side to side by hand(this cant be right) so I figured i need to do a valve job. p.s. the reason i say its the valve work because i have previously owned a 76 and i had a burnt valve in it causing it to run off. The 77 is running the same but a lot worst(I had it running at one point of time for a whole min but it eventually died out)

Ok heres the deal i got this car a while ago from a customer who wanted a basic tune-up and a few other things then it turned into well its not running blah blah blah He finally sent me the transistor and ecm and so on it wouldnt fire cause we arent getting gas but it fired when ether was spayed in the tb I check fuel pump leads no power I test pump it fail I just got a new pump and its mounted SO my problem is are the relays the only thing that can stop power to the pump there was a hot line wired into the pump wich i shorted not knowing it was hot now i cant locate a fuse or source for that Im kinda screwed i want it running so i can get the car out of my garage…

I'm trying to help a friend with what seems to be fueling problems on his '79 280ZX. He lives in a different city, which limits what I can do. Here's a recent note from him: "I connected a vacuum meter between the intake manifold and the fuel pressure regulator and hooked a pressure gauge to the fuel rail and took the Z out for a drive. For about the first five minutes the vacuum gauge read normal and the fuel pressure would vary from about 30 to 36 lbs and the car ran quite well. About a mile down the road the vacuum gauge started acting erratic and the fuel pressure also varied around 28-30lbs seeming to respond to the changes in vacuum. A few minutes later the…

Hello guys i need some help. i just bought a 78 280z the car was running fine when i bought it but then the car would start for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the car just turned off and now the car wont start. I took it 2 a shop to do a diagnostic on it and they said that im not getting enough power to the injectors. i changed the injectors pig tails but still won't start. can any one help me out. THANKS

my 78 280z recently started to lag when starting, it would take 2-3 turns of key to start. But know it just dosent start. If I use starting fluid it starts right up. Once the car starts it dosent turn off, but the car feels a little shakey in first unless I really push on it. A friend told me it could be a bad injector if so how can I check witch one. has anyone had a similar problem.

Hee's what I wrote Mike just minutes ago and figured I'd shoot it here as well...... So I'm trying to use the microfiche and it won't let me click on anything and actually come up. I tried the whole "Go into adobe Preferences" thing and the instructions are for adobe reader 4. I have adobe 9 and the "Allow Web browser integration" button is nowhere to be found on 9. What am I doing wrong or is there a new instruction for looking up part numbers on the cd. I only get the first 27 pages and it tells me........ hi i have a 71 240z and well my turn signals don't work either on the dash (the green arrows don't show up) and the taillights wont flash. and now to top ti off my headlights and dash lights wont work either turn signals - i checked all the fuses in the center console - the hazards work so i know its not the bulbs - the flasher relay works (bought a new one thinking that was the problem) headlights and in dash lights -bulbs work -fuses work fine -the wipers work i have read other forums on the turn signal problem and they all say check the flasher but that wasn't it and the headlights the same. any information on what to do or check will be greatly appreciated thank you
