drove to work fine this morning. went out to start it to go to lunch and nothing. volt meter initially read fine. tried to start and it went straight to 0 i have checked battery and fuses. batt at terminal reads 12.5, fuses are all ok, fusible links are as well. now when i engage any light (turn on headlights, brake lights, interior dome light) the voltage halves on the dash voltmeter. removed all light related fuses. still not turning over. any suggestions what it could be? any suggestions as to what to try next? car is a 1976 280z, FI thanks

I would like to mount a four or five channel amp under the driver's or passenger seat in my 73, perhaps a Sony XM4S Slim Line 4/3 or Alpine PDX-5. These are the smallest high quality amps that I can find, but with wires may still be too big. Have any of you mounted the amp under the seat? If so, can you give a model number or any other tips? Im having a noise from tranny like a metal to metal whining noise..when on idle it make noise but if i step on the clutch its gone I just recently change my clutch to Centerforce II..You think my new throwout bearing gone bad, input shaft bearing or clutch mis-adjusted? but other than that they all shifts fine on all gears with no noise..pls help..

My original braided heater hoses have been giving up, they start leaking, i will need a new set, can anyone help me with a part# or even better get me a set and ship it to me. I will not need braided hoses, this is after all the last of the braided there is in the car. TIA Chris

Hello, I am in the process of converting from flat tops to round tops on my 74 260Z. I bought round tops from ebay and a rebuild kit from Z Therapy. While installing the rebuild kit from Z Therapy, I conducted a drop test per the DVD. There was one piston that was sticking on the way down. This piston had the same behavior using both domes. I used 400 grit sandpaper to remove some of the aluminum per the DVD. While doing so, I noticed an imperfection in the piston. I've attached photos to help illustrate. At this point I am wonering what my options are. 1) Is there any way to repair this? Should I just keep removing material using the 400 grit sandpaper (does it even n…

Removing rear bumper from 280z can't get shocks out!!!!! Undid the 3 14mm on the driverside bottom, undid the 2 18mm on top. Won't come out?! then droped gas tank and unbolted 3 14's on bottom and 1 18 on top need help getting the other 18mm because interior plastic is blocking. How do I remove interior panels? Most of all how do i get thoose shocks out need help fast have work in 5 hours!!!

So I was driving back from a few hours worth of errands in town, and I start to get backfires. I'm unsure as to whether it was from the carbs or exhaust, but I got them while pushing the pedal more than 20%. I was low on gas, and the power loss felt like I was running empty. I've ran empty before, usually doesn't backfire. I put some gas in her today, and charged the battery. Didn't start. Tried to a couple times, backfireing from the carbs. Typical if the webers are flooded, but may be an indication of another problem? Looked at the ignotion box (Crane HI-6). If anyone know's these boxes, they have a red indicator light on them. As above, starts nicely and i can rev as long as i keep starter on, but it'll eventually burn the starter. I just run it 2 weeks ago and there were no problems. It dies instantly as i release key from start position. Also i noticed for the first time that i can remove key in all positions. Could this be problem in ignition switch? Is there any emergency help i can give to keep it running..? I need help fast, i gotta move the car in 2 days..

I there Z owners, I have isolated a spark issue with my 240Z. It has many, many problems but one at a time right? Okay, so the ballast resistor by the coil. It does show 8 volts across, and there are only two posts where wires run (pos and neg side). I have seen some ballast resistors in pictures from forum members showing a third post in the middle with a mystery wire - whats that all about? Different model of car? Anyways, like I said my car has very weak spark. It starts just fine (I've read that the start position bypasses the ballast resistor but uses it in run) but sometimes doesn't stay running until I wiggle the resistor. Hey guys Iam soon reinstalling my fuel tank and I need to know which lines can be eliminated from the tank and inside of the car . Alot are rotted and old and really dont want all the lines inside the car. If someone could put a pic up and maybe put color marks on the ones I dont need that would be awsome. Also if I can eliminate the big thing on the inside looks like some kind of venting setup that would be great too as I want to run my amps on each side . If i dont make sense tell me and I will try to explain better but doubtful .
