I was wondering if anyone has a component locator for a 1977 Datsun 280z. I am trying to locate where the electronic fuel injection module is. Any help would be appreciated.

i am reassembling the engine after having the head reconditioned. i have put the timing chain back on but im not sure if it exactly on the right sprocket. i have tried to get the block to tdc by lining up the grove on the crank shaft so that it points up. i have done the same thing to the cam. i have heard that if the timing is off the valves can be damaged. im wondering if it matters having the chain a few teeth off perfect and if there is a way to make sure that it is perfect rather than just estimating?

I am completely stumped on this. I've already switched out float valves AND floats with the same result, taken out the last minute mesh filters, cleaned and recleaned everything to do with the floats, carb bodies, pistons, domes, etc. Watched the ztherapy video multiple times, adjusted multiple times, etc etc etc. The static float level is maybe 1/16 below the top of the jet WHEN IT IS PULLED ALL THE WAY DOWN. With the jet 2 1/2 turns out, the static fuel level is wayy down there (maybe an inch below top of the jet) PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE PLEAAAAASE HELP!!! ^^^^^^ FUEL pressure^^^^^^ ( oops! ) Hi all! I know this is a forum with purist intentions, but I have a highly modified Z car with a problem that could plague any car, purist or not. Alright, so I've posted a thread or two before about the problems I had been having with my '75 Z. So about 5 months later, I've come full circle having fixed alot of nagging problems, and I've got one left to solve. My Z has an L28ET from an '82 and runs MSII, and somehow between reflashing the firmware or my alternator troubles, the tune was either corrupted or lost. So after getting retuned ( MS thought my car was running a V8....it is not ha ), the car runs beautifully. Idles as smooth …

Hey guys, I want to see if I can find out who was the original owner of my 1970 240Z (HLS3002126). I'm pretty certain it was a SoCal car from day one. And to the best of my knowledge, I am only the second owner....since 1983. If any of you have experience in this area, please throw me a bone if you will! I'll see what I can find in the archives too. Thanks, ahead of time! Tom

So I'm looking to get some rims for my 72 240z, and have two options right now. The first is a set of stock rims from a 74 260z, aluminum 4 slot, slight curb rash, and the second is a set of 14 x 7 basket weave (possibly appliance wheels) from a 72 240z, no curb rash. Don't know anything about cars, just want to get ones that fit for the right price, and look good. Thoughts? J.

Hello all Well my Z has hit its first MAJOR problem, tank crack. Was replacing the weather stripping on the doors today when I smelt the distinctive smell of gasoline. Check under my car and long and behold raw fuel is slowly dripping out of the tank. I took it to the mechanic and had them take a look at it. Tank has a crack in the nipple where one of the fuel lines connects. Here are the options I've come up with at the moment. 1. Spend the $350 that my mechanic wants for welding and R&R the tank. 2. Buy a refurbished on for $400 from zcarsource 3. Drain tank and use some kind of sealer (like JB Weld) What are your guys opinion on this? Anyone have this happen to t…

For those of us out west , I just received my rear bumper back from the plater. Denver Bumper Works Inc. There prices are fair and the work is first rate. I had my rear bumper on my 240Z done and couldn't ask for a better job. The turn around time is unbelievable. I rate them 1-A. I shipped my bumper from Portland Oregon to them via FED-X They received it and sent it back in 4 days!! $250.00 + shipping for all three parts. There are others here on the web site that have used them as well. When a quality merchant does good work for a fair price . Well it is good to give them our business. Otherwise we will only have the less quality to deal with. Gary

One of the lock bolts wont go back into place. Yes the pin is in the right way. Seems to be carving a new hole when i pound it in. Like it has a bur on it but it does not. So should i ream the hole or sand the bolt and try again.

Hey guys, I recently rebuilt my engine and while doing so i replaced the timing chain. As I was setting timing between the cam and the crank, I noticed I was a little off. I have a 240z with a pointer on the block and 5 marks on the pulley. I read in a thread that the farthest mark to the left is TDC. (please confirm) However my new chain from MSA is just shy of reaching this postion. With my crank at the far left mark, i am just to the right of the mark on the timing mark on cam tower 1. Is this a problem? I am so worried about this damn timing :paranoid: Any advice would be appreciated Frankie
