Okay i adjusted my valves the other day they where out of spec but not that bad. Error on the side of to loose rather than burn one. Now today i am driving around it is is backfiring la little from tail pipe. No biggie i think it is like 90 here and humid as sin. Richened up the mixture a little same thing. Wtf i whip out the timing lite and somehow my timing was at 25 or degrees advanced at idle WTF i adjusted my dizzy as far as it would go and now its at about 13-14 i dont get it how could that happen. it was adjusted to 14 before the valve adjust. kinda scrat5ching my head here. Hi Folks! My speedo meter needle bounces erratically below 25mph, but once I get going it stablilizes. I removed the cable at the speedo and the tranny this afternoon, pulled out the cable from the tranny side and cleaned it. I cleaned out the cable as best I could with brake cleaner then lubed it as best I could with graphite and chain lube. Reinstalled the cable and put it all back together. Now the needle bounces erratically below 30mph but then stablizes at higher speed. Any ideas? Do I need a new cable? The condition looked pretty good.... What do you think?

Good morning, after searching I still do not have an answer. I am switching from the stock exhaust manifold to the 3 to 2 no smog headers on a stock 77 280Z. I switched to all studs ( 10 mm studs at # 1 and 6)and need the following info please: 1. What is the torque specs to tighten down the nuts. 2.Is it a good idea to use two gaskets( the metal in between ones)when installing? I will be adding copper permatex to both the block side and header. 3.Proper tightening sequence is from the center to the outside right, or it does not matter with headers? I have a 76 280z, and I need my ac back. I live in Houston and it is unbearable. I have purchased a new ac motor blower, but it did not come with the fan. I have purchased several on ebay, but all of them are cracked or broken and they end up breaking just like the others. Is there anything else I could use. Such as a different year,or a different model, I just think I need something new. Everyone I have spoken with has no idea, but I know there is an answer out there. Any help is greatlly appreciated.

I am trying to finish this restoration on a 1971 240Z. {3/71}I need these hoses. part # 17238 E4601 and 17243 E4100. Nissan says they are not available. The local parts guy wants to sell me coolant hoses. Does anyone know where I can get either the correct hoses or quality aftermarket hoses ? The part #'s are from the Club CD-Rom. Hi, I have a 240Z modified with a 280ZX dizzy. In retrospect, the problem may have been showing over the last 2 months, but it has only become acute within the last 10 days. The problem isn't reproducible, but is predictable. The engine will cut out, completely, not just a power fade, for between 1/2 second (maybe less) to at least 20 seconds. When cutting out for 1/2 second, the engine fires back up if I'm moving because of a compression start. Feels like a stutter, which may have thrown me off on the diagnosis. These short cut-outs usually occur in clusters of 3 to 4 times and have possibly been occurring sporadically for a couple of months. Within the last week …

Hey guys Lookin for the attached part. This piece is inside the door on the backside of the handle. When you open the door this piece pushes down and press a lever its connected to to release the lock. Not sure the exact name but I have been through a couple they break pretty easy. I don't want to buy the complete assembly as its a little pricey. Zed use to have him but he parted them all out, now im lookin for another source. At least one if not 2. 75 280. Engine seemed like it was running a little weak. Did the cyl by cyl pull the plug and injector test to isolate. #2 cylinder seemed to be the issue. Did compression test, that was about 90 PSI in #2 while rest were in 150 +/- range. Car does use some oil (blue smoke) when under hard revving, but not under normal driving. Does not leak. Temp runs fine. Oil press is fine. I was under impression if you had bad rings or valves the compresssion would be zero, not just down about a third. Anyways, would seem to explain why the engine seemed to have a little less power that before. Has 110K on it, very regular maint, oil changes, etc. I have owned several of these cars an…

my car was running good been running good for awhile and now it wont. weve changed the coil, the points and condenser, the spark plugs and the spark plug wires, the car is getting spark, fuel, air, and compression, dont know what else to check. any ideas?

Ok so when I bought my 240Z the car would not start. So i replaced the spark plugs and wires and removed the SU carbs cleaned them real nice and put them back on the car. The car started nicely and i drove it around the block once or twice. The car was running really really RICH. The following day the car started up again no problem but then the 3rd day and now the engine cranks good and it smells like it is getting plenty of fuel but it wont start. I replaced the ignition coil and took out one of the spark plugs and placed it on bare metal and got a healthy blue spark. I cranked the car for a while and the engine started for a second or two and then died again. I lifted…

I have a 78Z I picked it up last fall and I have been doing some work on it the car has about 78,000 miles on it and it had been sitting for about 20 years, I had the fuel tank cleaned and sealed, new fuel pump and pressure regulator. When I charged the fuel system I noticed that one of the short rubber lines at one of the injectors was leaking, I also noticed that the line appears to have been installed with some kind of compressed fitting when I removed that injctor I looked inside and it appears that the rubber inside the hose had started to break down and appears to have clogged the injector, I am assuming that all the rest of the injectors will have the same problem …
