It's come a long way and now I am looking at the air conditioner. For a 77 coupe, does anyone suggest a replacement that will provide more cold air and blower? Does not have to be original - looking for an upgrade here. Thanks

Hey Super People out there!: I just ordered some stuff from Black Dragon for my Z. Any reports of problems with them? As I am just starting my retro and rebuild; anyone got other sources I should check out for parts and enhancements?

Wanted to share the results of your help in finishing up my 77 280z so I added some pics here. Its only about 85% original though - 1. Has a 240z console 2. Has new CD player and speakers in the back 3. Hatch floor changed from sloping to flat 4. Side mirrors are not original 5. Rear Window defogger has been replaced with new kit 6. Has 240z wooden steering wheel 7. Has a rebuilt five speed tranny from another 77 Z 8. Has a dash cap 9. Has a 91 Honda Civic AC blower Paint is GM Red/Oeange with a light Pearl touch. It is now my daily driver and is so much fun thanks to ya'll.

I see that there are some letters on the back of it and they are B S A IG R I have been looking thru my Chiltons and I am not seeing anything. This is what i am looking at: Can someone help?? Is there a female plug that goes into the back of it? I looked around and I dont see a plug that corresponds with the pattern. If there is a plug, could I get a picture of it by chance? Adam

I am at a loss and need some help. Here's the background on my car: I rebuilt the engine a few years ago and it has about 6500 miles on it since the rebuild. It has an N47 head and flat top pistons. The head was brand new when I built the motor. It was a takeoff head that had been sitting on a shelf since 1977. It didn't even have a wear pattern on the cam when I got it. I had a new Web Camshaft that I was planning on using, but chose to rebuild the engine with the stock cam that came with the head until I knew it ran right to take a variable out of the equation. The engine ran great for two years. I had 180psi across all cylinders, <10% leakdown, 18" vacuum a…

I recently installed a kit from tokico including struts and 1" lowering springs on my 77 280z. when the car is on the ground the ride height looks fine and all seems to be well. however when installing the springs I did not need to compress the springs infact the spring is is moveable with the wheels in the air. is this normal? this might be a dumb question but this is the first time I've lowered a car and I'm just looking for confirmation that I'm not screwing something up.

I just changed the auto tranny for a 5 speed out of two 1978 280z cars. The problem I have run into is when the ignition key is turned to start, nothing happens. I just hear a click from under the pass. side of the dash and the floor temp light comes on as well as the seatbelt light. I've heard of a inhibitor switch (like a neutral safety switch) that you have to bypass when you do the swap, but cannot find where to bypass it. I've heard on some of the older cars there is just a switch on the pass side fenderwell, but I cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Erik

I have an 83zx 5 speed tranny and R200 diff installed in my 70 Z. I have some leakage problems that I had hoped to correct with a new rear seal in the tranny and a new large gasket for the diff. Unfortunately, I am still getting gear oil leaking at the rear of the tranny. I have heard that the shifter o ring can cause this problem, spewing oil around as you are driving, then dripping down once you are stationary. The major problem of having to drop the tranny, pull the housing off and get inside to replace a small o ring is not appealing to me, so I thought I would ask you guys if you thought it could be anything else less difficult to deal with. Any thoughts? Thanks…

Hello all, Last fall I purchased a new set of 5 way adjustable struts with 1" lowering springs from tokico to install on my 77 280z. getting ready to install them this week and have a few questions. First off I'm planning on using the lower spring cups and hardware from the original struts I assume this is ok. It appears as though the lower spring cups are welded in place so i need to break the welds on the old and reweld onto the new. any advise on welding temp or feed rate? (never welded on struts before). Also any measurements on positioning the lower cups on the new struts. do I copy the originals or do i have to compensate for an inch drop? If anyone can give m…
