I did a search and came up empty so here it goes. My first question is what would cause the battery and tail warning lights to come on?? Whats the fix to get the warning to stop. For some reason the tailights are not out but it still gives the warning so I think it may be the relay. The battery ive been told becuase newer batteries dont have the same makeup that the computer is used to reading it constantly says its failing. So any tips on how to get those to go off?? My second question is the car starts up just fine. But after about a minute of warming up it starts to lump where it will drop to about 500rpm and regain itself and it continues to do that til the car is …

I recently bought a 1972 240z. The dash was severely cracked and the glove box was broken, so I swapped the dashboard out with another dash that was in much better shape. I got the second dash in and now my turn indicators and wipers don't work. The lights in the gauges don't work either. I really would not like to take the dash back out. Can anyone tell me where to look for bad connections for my wipers, turn indicators, brake lights, and gauge lights? I carefully labelled every connection but there is a chance that I either missed something or didn't fully connect something. If I can't diagnose the problem, I may end up refurbishing my other dash with bumper repa…

A straightforward question on dashboard installation: Is it any easier to reinstall the dashboard if the windshield is still out. For a couple of reasons I'd like to put the glass in first if I'm not creating any installation problems for myself. Thanks in advance for any relevant tips/thoughts.

Now that I have drivin the Z for a whole week there are two things that I have noticed and I have some questions about them. #1 When I turn the key to the on position all my gauges come on. My fuel gauge goes up and stops. Then when I get moving in the car it continues to raise then stops. Which is the right reading? I would think as a vacuum is created it makes the gauge raise after I start driving it. Idk??? #2 At about 50 mph the shifter on my auto trany starts to shake pretty bad. Is there something loose?

Hello Classic Zcar community! My name is David and I am from Slovakia. I am studying design of wood at the School of Applied Arts in the capital- Bratislava. I am interested in historic racing cars and prototypes from my childhood. My favourite racing "beasts" "D are the Datsun 240Z and 260Z, especially the ones with the wide imsa body kits like the Bob Sharp Racing cars. Thanks to Bobby Hanwey, author of custom 240Z, who recommended me this forum I gain a lot of new info about the Datsun cars. Here is really lot of material about these cars, and as I am a newbie in this area I am amazed with the amount of areas related to this topic, many Datsun owners and fans and abou…
