Hi, I posted a thread here a few days back about my fuel pump issue(s). It's apparently been viewed 28 times w/ no response. I'm curious, did I break some type of etiquette rule for the forum or something? I'm a mechanical newbie, and have tried searching through the threads looking for an answer before I'd asked the question. My car is a 1975 280Z, and I'm a first time Z Owner that joined this site back in January. Truly, if there's not an answer hear, I apologize for asking an inanely stupid question. PS-I'm not in anyway associated w/ any other ZSaints that have frequented this site in the past.

Hi Classic Z member's, Well, after all the hard work and money i've put into my 77 280Z, I think i just really screwed up bad- I finally got my l28 fired up with my new carbs and fuel pump, thanks to other member's here. I finished it this weekend and it ran so good it brought a tear to my eye. I played with the carb's and everything was really smooth sailing all day. Then i shut the motor down for the night, covered the car, and went inside. The next morning I got up to work on my Z again. That is when I noticed a freeze plug laying next to the motor mount. It must of came out over night after the motor cooled, it didn't go far, looked like it just fell out freely. So I r…

Anyone had any success finding a Canadian supplier for Z car parts? I've been dealing with Motorsport out of California for most of it and I don't mind paying shipping and duties on larger orders from the states when it's one stop shopping and worth my while, but for smaller stuff i'd like to find someone this side of the imaginary line if possible. I'm in Ontario if anybody's got a lead....

Okay, I've got a 1975 280z....hadn't been driven in several years. Ran like dog crap...replaced fuel pump, filters, wires,plugs....wouldn't turn over. Finally got it going by having friend hold AFM flap open....ran really well. Tried driving it around and eventually couldn't get it to restart. Still can hear the pump engaging when opening the AFM flap....just won't turn-over. Any thoughts on this? Thanks much! Saint

i've been taking out my center console, AC controls and center vent finisher, prior to which my turn signals were fully functional. i forgot that my Z club meets tomorrow, and i need to get the turn signals working again so i can drive it over. i thought that plugging the hazard lights switch back in would do it, but it only makes it so i can turn on the hazards. what else do the signals run through that i should plug back in? the only peripherals that i unplugged were the hazard switch, defogger switch, heater fan control, AC control lamp, blower motor, and radio.

Thought the topic would grab some attention. I've got a 1981 280zx non-turbo, auto tranny, with about 124k miles on it. So for about 3 years now, the car would randomly shut off while I was driving. Didn't matter how fast I was going, what the temperature outside was, the time of day, how much fuel I had, what day of the week it was, what mood I was in... The solution was to just turn it over again and it would start right back up. Usually, I could be doing 70 on the freeway, and it could die, I could put it in neutral and coast while I restarted it. Or I could be sitting at a stoplight and the same thing would happen. Over time, it got progressively worse. It wouldn't im…

looks like the original owner modified this wire. it was bundled together that all the wires that go to the alt. from looking at the FSM i thinks its just a ground. but why the heck does it split into two wires?? so should i just ground it onto the chassis?

I'm trying to hook up a power lock kit, but I'm afraid to do it. My 1973 door lock can only be locked if the door is shut. In other words if you push down on the lock with the door open, it won't move. If I connect the little motor to the vertical lock rod, I figure I'll eventually lock the car with a door open and the force of the motor will break something. Question....is it normal to only be able to push down on the lock with the door shut? I've always thought it was a safety mechanism to keep you from locking your keys in the car, but then why does MSA sell these little power lock kits (mine's not from MSA) for 240s? Whether or not its normal, can I change it/fi…
