Hey guys Well upon inspection of the G3 filter I put in a week ago, with a new pump, and the noises/stalling of my 76 Z, I think the tank needs to be cleaned/sealed. A local radiator shop will do this for about $125, so I'm going to do it. How do I remove the tank, in order? How do I get to the filler neck, and how is it attatched? I will get some new 1/2 inch fuel line for the feed line. What size hose can I use for the: return line vent lines Thanks!

Hi all, I am flying down to Alabama tomorrow morning to look at a 240 for purchase. I'm told it has a 280 engine yet is carburated. I didn't think the L28 came carburated (I could be wrong) so I'm assuming they simply didn't want to deal with the wiring, etc to retro the FI for the 240. The engine change was done before this owner purchased the car so the paperwork is MIA. I asked the seller to take some photos of the underside and he did so, even took it to the bodyshop for me and I spoke to the owner of the shop who uncover 4 problem areas in the floor. Hey everyone, as some of you may know, ive got 260Z, that has been sitting for a few years ...i pulled the fuel tank. cleaned the tank ,flushed the fuel line, new fuel pumps, new plugs, cap, and rotor etc.(elect. fuel pump is installed but NOT hooked to power, its there but just not hooked up) i cleaned the carbs today, and took it out for a spin it runs GREAT! but all of sudden....the gauges Tach, turn signals, fuel guage, temp, water temp, stopped working, i checked the fuse block and all the fuses seem to be fine. the car runs great head lites work, brakes lites work fine wow, im kinda stumped im good at turning the wrenches but not so good at the electrical.…

Well guys I thought I had fixed my problems, but nope. Automatic trans is leaking BAD and shifting is erratic, along with clunking. I plan to swap the 79 ZX 5 speed I have. is there any way to tell if the trans works before installing? It shifts through all gears; Will I have to cut the floor for the shifter? 76 280z. I've read sometimes you cut and sometimes you don't have to. I ask bc I won't have power when doing this swap. Would have to rent a generator or use elbow grease. I recently noticed that my suspensions squeaks quite badly upon deceleration. It can only be heard when under 30mph and decelerating and it sounds like a family of finches is somewhere under my car. *Tweet**Tweet**Tweet**Tweet**Tweet**Tweet* It's kind of rhythmic and stops when I apply the brakes. However when I bounce each corner of the car manually, there is no noise. Anyone know where the squeaking is coming from? Hey hi All ! I'm re-upholstering the interior of my 260z 2+2. I am missing what ever molding is screwed onto the back side of the back seat. This is the side you would see if viewing the seat in the upright position from the back of the car. If anyone with a '74 260Z 2+2 would send me a picture showing this molding it would help me. Can anyone identify this trans? It says" TA71B #3 " "7Y07349" and it has 2 ears at shifter. If this is for 81-82 ZX, why does it have oil temp sensor at the back as well as inspection hole at the bottom of bell housing like BW T5? Very confused here......... Esprist

hey folks i need a little help, and I have done research here and have only found some partial remidies,.......I replaced the fuel pump on my 260Z (Its new to me) and itsmechanical) and have purchased the electrical fuel pump to r/r the oem as well, now, i have 2 things going on, 1.i have NO power to the electric is there a fuel pump relay and if so where the heck is it??? ......... any way the fuel pump mounted on the fuel cell and i do not have the book to find if i have a relay or not. 2. when i pulled the fuel line to the mechanical from the gas tank i cant get ANY FUEL COME out of the fuel tank. its like its COMPLETELY CLOGGED and its got a bout 6-7 gals i…

i have a 1976 datsun 280z and it runs ok until it heats up and then starts sputtering and running like $hit! when i stop at a red light, the rpms hover from 500-1000 and eventually the thing shuts off. When i start it again after that i have to give it a ton of gas and then alot of smoke comes out the back. i have replaced the cold start injector and temp sensor and i attempted to replace the mass airflow sensor today but it ran even worse. any ideas? and does the mass airflow sensor need adjusting right out of the box?

Hey guys....I'm trying to find the valve cover-to-air cleaner hose (part #11826-E4600) for my 73. I'm running ZTherapy SU's with a 1972 air cleaner, not the original tuna can flat tops that she came with. I've tried every source I know of, and everyone is NLA. I'd love to find a used one in good condition. If someone has a new one hanging around, that would be even better. I'll pay cash, or maybe I have something you need (original AM/FM stereo, Hitachi flat tops, smog pump, 3.36 differential, 4 speed tranny, 1973 hubcaps, etc.) for a trade. Let me know. Can anyone tell me if the an 82 28L is the same block as the 78 28L ? I need an engine for mine ( 78 Z ) and found a 82 . Will this work, trans. & manifolds interchangable ?
