Hi, tomorrow im going to go pick up a 1972 240z, The odo is at 38k and I was wondering if there are any good ways to tell what the actually mileage is. The body is in really good condition, the paint is not however. It has next to no rust. Are there any tell tale signs that would distinguish a 138k from a 238k car? thanks for your help

I have searched on this subject but never really saw a solid answer. I need to switch to electronic ignition on my 1972 240Z , it has automatic transmission. Can i use the XR700 for this Z even if it has dual points or will I run into complications? Also, will my tach no longer work if I install this system? I've heard it will no longer work. And, lastly, do I need to upgrade the stock coil if I use the XR700? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Nick

first fuel lines. on the 280z theres three lines the 240 only has 2. so im not sure what to do with the 3rd line. the fuel filter has one in and one out. so i know that one from tank-pump-filter= main fuel line. than i guess the second is a return fuel line? which one would that connect to? and what the heck do i do with the 3rd one? on carb fuel rail setup they're two fuel lines. i guess one is a main fuel line and the other is a return hose? i numbered the pipes to make explaination easier. Second. i forgot to take mental note of what went where. i was losing daylight and wanted the weber carbs out fast so i can clean them during the night. also if any of …

I have a 1977 Datsun 280z, since i bought the car it ran good but once in a while it runs rich and starts to flood out. When i give it gas it starts to sputter.I been trying to find this problem for a while now and i cant figure it out. People tell me its the water temp. sensor, i changed it and it still does it. It seems like the problem will go away for like a week but then it comes back, I'm thinking it could be a relay, but i don't know what it is, Can someone please help me! Thank You.

ok so I read through a few threads, the manual, and the efi-bible and I think I have an idea of what is going on but im not for sure. The problem is just as stated in the title the car will start but the idle is weak and it dies almost instantly, if I give it some gas I can keep it alive but it's really rough and I get some whiteish smoke out of the tail. I have a l28e from a 83zx' and I think there maybe be some gaps forming in the rubber elbow due to it being old and the weather I had an idle issue before from this but was able to seal the cracks with sealent. also I have a cone filter and I know it needs to be replaced cause it's kinda dirty but would that cause the ca…

OK, now as many of you know I just did a motor swap in my 72 240Z. After getting the motor in and everything hooked up I have a small headache :stupid: I am not getting any power on the coil with the key on. Plus nothing on the starter trigger wire with the key in the start pos. I can hear the sol. box click in the pass side footwell but thats as far as it gose. Yes, everything in the fuse box is fine with no wire damage that I can find. Yes everything that should power up with the key on dose. It's just coil power and starter trigger power thats missing. Where should I start ? Also, I would love ta hear this motor run today!!! Where can I jump power to for a temp…

Ok, I have been working on my 72 240Z fuel system today. As most of you know I just did a motor swap. With that the fuel line had been left unhooked for a few days. Well I got it all hooked back up today and notice that there are air bubbles along with fuel thats going into the fuel filter. Now its pulling fuel from the tank and keeps the filter full without any fuel leaking back. But it seems that no matter how long I turn the motor over I still get air bubbles from the tank. Is this a normal thing? If not where should I start looking? No I have not run the motor yet nor have I even tried. I am just taking my time and looking to make sure everything is good before I ru…
