Rusty tank 1 2

The tank looks good externally, but I wanted to get it cleaned out, so I took it to a shop that does radiators and fuel tanks. The guy calls me today and says that it very rusty inside. He wants $400.00 to clean and seal the tank. Here's the question: should I let him do the work or should I just buy a kit like a KBS sealing kit and do it myself. The tank has no holes or external rust. Or, does anyone know of new replacement tank? Help! Mike

EDITED: Ok, I don't think that's the problem anymore. Something is wrong with my front carb I do think. When I look into it, the suction piston doesn't rise as I give it more throttle, whereas the back one does. Also, it sprays a little gas out through the inlet (choke) side. It runs the same if I take the front 3 plug wires off. What's wrong with my carb? I just rebuilt them both, and they were assembled identically to eachother.

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my carbs, and I can't figure out how to get the float pivot pin out to remove the float. There is a screw in plug on the side of the carb, and the end of the pin is under that. However, there's no way to push the pin out from the other side.

I have a 1975 280z and as i was driving down the road it just cut off. At first i thought i might have just run out of gas. It still wouldn't start after i added a couple gallons. Once i got it back to my house I checked the spark and gas. It has plenty of both but it only backfires. So the engine turns over but it will not start and it has not started since it has died. Anyone have any idea of what it could be?

My windshield is badly pitted and needs to be replaced. The windshield has a Nissan marking on it. I also have a parts car with a good windshield that has a Carlite etching on it. Does anyone know if the carlite was offered as original or has it got to be a replacement? The weatherstipping around it looks pretty old. Trying to keep the car original. Thanks for any help.

I lost my keys for my Z, and I need to take the ignition lock out of the car, so a locksmith can make me a new set of keys, but how do I take the secutity bolts out? Thank you

I will be the first to admit that Radio's and wiring are not my strong point. This has to be so simple, but I can't figure it out. Got in the car this morning radio is working fine. Just went out to the store, and the radio lights are on, but no sound. I checked the speakers, contacts are good. There is no static, or any type of sound what-so-ever, however the radio is working fine. Any thoughts? Thanks, Randy

I want to remove the emblems for a full cleaning and paint buffing. Front and rear logos are no problem, but how do i remove the "Datsun" front fender and "Z" rear quarter (air vent) emblem on both sides? From below the car i have access to one of the clips of the front fender emblem but the second one is apparently not so easily accessed. Do i need to remove the inner panels to remove the "Z" rear emblem? Thanks, Adrian

Hey guys, could use some help. About a year ago an exhaust manifold stud broke right at the cylinder head. Now it's started to leak, so I attempted to fix it today. I've tried to drill out the stud, but I'm not getting anywhere, so I guess I need to take the cylinder head off and take it to a maching shop. It's only been 35 years since I did this, so I'm a bit rusty. I bought the chain retainer from Motorsports today, but can't remember which side to put it on. Last time I made my own out of wood! Do I need to take the rocker arms out first? Instructions say to take the oil gallery off too. Why? Can the cam stay in as well? Again, it's been awhile so I appreciate the hel…
